I think they have interest in the football. They just don't want to compete with the big spenders and be the best. They will look at the table and be ok with top 8 thinking it's not the worst. They'll think a new manager can come in and just get us back up a few places again. As long as we're in the top half they're not going to be too concerned.

Leicester and Everton spring to mind.

I don’t think it’s totally ridiculous to see a relegation battle in the next 5 years. We are falling like a stone and that tosser will still think he knows best

Egotistical, Narcissistic, Bald twat

Take Kane out the side. Make the manager appointment poor and a bit more bad recruitment and we would be looking at lower mid table. At that point anything can happen.

5 years. You're a bit optimistic! If we get this wrong , it will be next season or the one after ( depend on Kane situation).

I absolutely detest Oliver Holt but this paragraph is bang on:

"Spurs is a manager’s graveyard. It is a club where the shadow of Levy lingers over all and inhibits all. It is a club that relies on an excuse culture. It is a club that refuses to commit. It is a club that backs away from any vision that does not pay due reverence to the god of the deal. There is always a caveat. There is always a catch. "

Yep as another poster said below take Kane out, bad next manager hire and some continued poor recruitment and we will be bottom half and with the league being so competitive and without a goal scorer anything can happen from there.

We are truly now at a watershed moment, get the next moves right and we could maintain our place in the top 8 and if we are lucky move back into the top6, get it wrong and the whole thing could come crashing down, it’s really not too dramatic to say that as things stand.

The media were very respectful to Levy for years even after multi screw ups. However now there seems to be quite a few who just say it as it is. Levy’s aura of competence which he did have certainly during Poch’s reign is long gone.

No it’s 100% accurate. I can’t remember the last time we had such a pivot moment. Let’s say we get Slot and a DoF, he does well and the recruitment in the summer is half decent, maybe finish 6th next season and have something to build on.

Get it all wrong and in 2-3 seasons we will be the next Everton and if you think it’s toxic now wait till we need favours to avoid the worst case.

It will just be repeat of when Ramos lost Berbatov and Keane in one window and Fraizer Campbell came in. We got 2 points from 8 games and desperately hired Redknapp to dig us out. Who will be our Redknapp next year I wonder. Save us Big Sam.

Levy’s chairman’s message in next weekend’s programme is gonna be fascinating. Is he gonna churn out some banal platitudes or actually say something to the fans? Money’s on the former obvs.

Never been a fan of Oliver Holt - felt he has been unfairly harsh on the club players and managers over he years that has often been way OTT

BUT

there not much in this article I disagree with
He’s bang on……he’s also still a grade A **** though

I agree; never been a fan of him either but he hit the nail on the head in that piece.

At what point does he realise he looks like a complete twat for the way he’s running the club?
I keep saying it he must have something on Joe Lewis. There’s no other reason they continue to let him make complete pigs ear of running the football side of the company. It’s no good saying he doesn’t care because Levy’s making money for him. He’d still be making money for him if had nothing to do with the football side of things. As it is his incompetence at running the football side of things has cost ENIC millions.

Leicester finished 8th and 5th in recent seasons if my memory is correct. It's genuinely not crazy to think any club who makes a few wrong moves can't go down.

People will say that's hyperbole but take Kane out of our team and it isn't that mad to think we would be a bottom half team. Our record with signings has been terrible, it improved with Paratici but he's gone and at minute we don't know who will be in and if they'll be any use.

This for me is one of the main reasons people are so frustrated and annoyed. Other clubs in the league are so well run and have a plan where we are stumbling around again. The first stumble has stopped us being a top 6 club, where will this current stumble lead us to? 8-10th next season?
