To blame two players that had the bollox to go up and take a spot kick in that hostile atmosphere is nothing short of pathetic. I'm proud of all the penalty takers, they had the guts to try, at least give them some respect.

show me where i said chimbs had a bad game ? you might think its ok for a pro like yourself) to not hit the target from 12 yrds but i dont...no matter what the "pressures"like

Better players than Chimbonda have missed even more crucial penalties than that. While I don't agree with the decision to have him take the penalty at least he had the guts to step up and take one.

Why can't you answer the question instead of asking a completely unrelated question? Where did Chris accuse you of saying Chimbo had a bad game?

Baggio in the World Cup springs to mind. Ahh but, you see by harrowspurs rules that makes him a disgrace.

Everyone having a go tonight are a disgrace to THFC

We played really well, had such bad luck and some decisions against us were paper thin. We were unlucky with a lot of bounces too.

Whoever slags off people that decided to take and miss pens are a disgrace. It's a highly pressured situation, and you have to have a lot of bottle to take one in the first place.

Tut. Fucking. Tut.

The future is bright.

What a shame to go out like that when we could have won. Anyway hope we are not hard on the lads, especially Jenas and Chimbo as they would be more upset than us.

Now we must pull out all stops in the league and amass as many points as possible.

:-|

please he would be ripped to shreads with in the first game by our fans.

Brilliant one min and then does a mistake today.

I thought Robbo had the better games.

Although the save from Malbranque shot was fantastic

:-|

Gomes is a fucking good keeper, and if you can't see that, we need not debate the topic a second longer, coz it'll be a waste of your breath as well as mine.

Unlucky tonight, PSV are a good side.

That's the annoying thing, they are a good side and yet we outplayed them by a long stretch without playing that well ourselves.

I knew as soon as we got a goal they'd shit themselves, just a shame it wasn't earlier.

We still have 30 points to play for. It was a very spirited display. Yes JJ looked casual but so did berbatov. The biggest move ramos needs to do is get berba on a long term deal. I think bents pen will do him the world of good. Just dissapointed that steed or lennon didn't hav e the balls to take one instead of chimbonda who I thought had a very good game and cobered right mid all game long

To be honest, barring his assist, I thought Chimbonda had a rotten game, but I'm not silly enough to think it's his fault he went out tonight. As you say, he has the guts to take a penalty where Steed and Lennon didn't.

Knew he was going to miss, though :shifty:

Hmm, he may be a good shot stopper but he is a massive risk taker and could've been punshied 3 or 4 times. In the premier league, playing like that, he'd get punished every week, I'm afraid.

Why couldn't you add this post to the match thread?

I have read many a negtive comment since coming on here twenty mins ago and I trusted my judgement in believing this is worth a thread of its own.

You, my Sir, can knob off.

Penalty shootouts are a lottery really. Jenas did not take a great penalty, but sometimes they go in. Lets not start ripping into a player because he missed a penalty. Chimbonda and Jenas at least had the guts to take it and I dont imagine their team mates would blame them. Lets face it, PSV are a good team. They are very experienced and I think we should accept that we were not good enough over the 2 legs.

We have won a cup this year guaranteeing us European football next year, so lets be positive and gear up for Europe next season.
