I know it’s only the League cup but we haven’t won anything in so damn long we should be giving ourselves every last chance to win a cup that we can. This is just another opportunity we have pissed away

Dier and Sanchez absolutely shocking again, and I’m not sure sessegnon has what it takes to be a top full back. He’s easily bullied and just doesn’t have much about him.

Only one more game before we can have a nice long break from this pain. Then I’ll forget how bad we were and see we are 4th and still in the CL and get excited only to be let down again. Yet I keep coming back.

Not really that bothered to be honest. Keep us a little bit fresher. Arse and Chelsea also lost, so meh.

That was a proper Europa/Europa Conference performance of recent years. Put out a strong team but they treat it like a training game until its too late.

Personally don't mind us dropping out of this one early to avoid further fixture congestion but would have been a lot easier to swallow had we played a B team and actually rested some key players. This is just the worst outcome really.

Hope the team find a way to get 3 points on (edit) Saturday, they seem pretty lost right now.

One minor positive was that I thought Forster looked like a solid backup keeper. I wouldn't feel worried if he had to jump in for a game at all.

So I just message my brother the following and make for depressing reading (and this isn't me excusing Conte for not getting better performances out of some of our current players.)

Alderweireld - Left 2021
Vertonghen - Left 2020
Danny Rose - On loan from 2020 left the club after those loans
Kyle Walker - Left 2017
Christian Eriksen - Left 2020
Mousa Dembele - Left 2019

All of the above were core components of our relative success in recent times and I would happily argue that none of them have been adequately replaced.

Does anyone really trust the club to go out and find a keeper that can replace Lloris when he hangs up his gloves?

For to long we have relied on excellence of Kane and Sonny to see us scrap through matches.

Had Man City - Chelsea on in the background and it’s just embarrassing. I’m not saying we can be Man City but there is just no sharpness or invention in our play. No movement. No-one creating space. No-one doing penetrating runs or moving people around off the ball. There is just…..nothing
This… Been saying this for seasons! Pass and move, pull defenders about, make runs. I want to see us live on the edge. There’s no movement up top, no pass and move, no one twos

Couldn't give a crap about this competition and glad that we are out because we now will have less games to play. That being said that was a worryingly shite performance.

Romero replaces Toby and Bissouma replaces Dembele (time will tell) but you could certainly argue that we have failed to replace them and even bought 2 or 3 who have al failed to reach the level

I would like to know how many games this season we have conceded first. Feels like every game of late.
Forest - conceded first
Liverpool - conceded first
Marseille - conceded first
Bournemouth - conceded first
Sporting - conceded first
Newcastle - conceded first
Man utd - conceded first
Everton - scored first
Frankfurt - conceded first
Brighton - scored first
Frankfurt - no goals
Arsenal - conceded first
Leicester - conceded first
Sporting - conceded first
Marseille - scored first
Fulham - scored first
West Ham - scored first
Forest - scored first
Wolves - scored first
Chelsea - conceded first
Southampton - conceded first

So 13 times conceded first. 7 in a row after tonight.....
7 times scored first
1 time no goals

Kulusevski is the only one who can do this.

While our defence gets the attention, our attacking play is just as bad.

Cant believe we have to play Dier and sanchez in 2022! They been here forever and were never first team players when we had Toby and Jan. Why would they be now?

I like Romero and Bissouma looks promising but neither have yet reached the heights that the Toby and Mousa did for us. They might in time and we better players around them but not yet imo.

At least there should be no doubt in Conte and Paratici’s mind that we need to shift Dier, Sanchez, Sess (and Davies and Hugo) asap as these players have proved they aren’t up to standard.

if any of them are still here at the end of the summer window I will be very disappointed
