Arsenal are much better than us and they will continue to improve. They have a young squad filled with talent and a manager that actually tries to play football. We have a dinosaur manager playing the same boring football every week. I can't see us improve much more under Conte. Sure, we will challenge for top four but that's it.
Agree completely. A lot of fans are stuck with their head in the sands on this. They are a strong team, probably not enough to win the league but they have show. Today they have built better than us and have a better philosophy. Only fools will see this as a fluke.

I think this is Conte's last season. He is a great manager but somehow his tactics do not resonate with the players he has. On another note, Emerson Royal, when is he leaving? I don't rate this boy at all, offers nothing to the team.
His replacement Doherty is fucking hopeless which doesn’t help

This **** Keown is doing my fucking head in. Never heard so much bollocks in my entire life. Spurs handed that result to the scum on a silver fucking platter. Dog shit from Lloris, Royal utterly shit today and totally mindless with that challenge (I still thought the player reaction got him the red as I thought he’d broken something due to the way he rolled about play acting). 11 v 11 I actually thought we looked comfortable for the most part and they didn’t open us up once. It was when it went 11v10 that we capitulated and the goal followed so swiftly that it was game over.
I hope Spence gets a run now (he won’t) and I thought that match today would’ve been perfect for him.

A couple of takes from the game, Son is absolutely not back to his best not by a long shot. Royal's deficiencies have been highlighted, much as I admire his attitude and willingness to work his socks off.
Arsenal might well have won this game but the red card made it certain, no way back with ten men against a team that plays like Arsenal do.

Disappointing. They were there for the taking.

Lloris has let us down massively and it swung the momentum in their favour at the time.

Red card was a bad challenge in a stupid area of the pitch but I don't think it's a red. Still stupidity from Royal though

Oh well. Time to enjoy the rest of the weekend. See you all Monday

Lost that at half time. Didn't sort the issues Emerson was having down his side along with the extra man in the middle.

2 errors took a finely poised game away from us.

Conte has to find a way to get this side playing, not just grinding out results as we have done so far this season. We've not looked like we've played particularly well very much at all

Mate honestly they were the better team by quite a distance.
At half time we were all saying that it was going exactly to Conte’s plan. Then within minutes after the restart Lloris had possibly the worst error of his entire career, and before we could get back into it Emerson killed the game.

Aside from the individual mistakes the performance was no different than standard Conte fare.

The result isn't surprising but the manner of it is. They weren't even that good and that's really fucking annoying. We've given them a boost and it was totally self-inflicted.

In the long run we'll be fine but It's another bitter pill to swallow. Needless, needless, needless.

I’m just not bothered anymore. Every game has been the same recently but this time it went against us. The passive football we have played for the last 3 or 4 years makes it very hard to watch. I don’t know what else to do with my time.

It deserves to be a red just for the stupidity alone IMO.

And let's be honest, if the roles were reversed then we would be screaming for a red.
Maybe I'm seeing everything through lilywhite lenses, but regardless of the circumstances I'd be surprised to see a ref send someone off for that. Even if it was against us.

It's a nasty challenge, definitely a strong yellow, but he's not dived in, there wasn't excessive force and it could've easily been a misjudgement (Emerson is pretty clumsy). Compared to most reds where players are literally diving in 2 feet off the ground, it's nowhere near as bad. It must've been painful as fuck to be on the receiving end of it - studs on your heel will always hurt - but does that mean instant red?

Perhaps according to the letter of the law it's a red, but I feel like 9/10 you see that challenge in a PL game it's a yellow and a strong warning.

The game completely hinges on Lloris throwing one in his own net. After that we were rattled, never found a groove and finally killed off by Emerson’s moment of lunacy. Quibble all you like about it being a marginal red card, but the fact remains the ball was nowhere near him and gave the ref a decision to make.

Conte needs to embrace the midfield three sooner rather than later. Son/Richy/Kane looked completely kanckared from their international endeavours and were completely redundant all game.

We’ll still finish above them.
