The worst part of it all is nobody can tell you exactly what he said, who he said it too and WHY did he still get game time afterwards. it's sad how so many on here can continously spout the drivel but can't give a factual account of who the journalist he went too, when and what was said. Now players who've caused disharmony have immediately been banished and trained alone...but Winks still went on to play in several games.
I remember reading that he supposedly hated Kane, yet he was seen sitting next to Kane on a flight shortly after.

It's dangerous because it can give a support base either a fictional, over exaggerated or misunderstood one sided account of whats really happening.

Before you know it, a huge percentage of the fan base dislike a Tottenham-lad for something that may not have even happened, and if it did we haven't got their side of the story either.

That's simply unjust and unfair.

If you’re directing hatred towards Winks for the rumored disrupting actions (assuming they’re true) and acting in his own interest over that of the club, then you should reserve the same levels of vitriol for Kane for doing the same thing.

The way that Kane acted was so, so far beyond what Winks is even alleged to have done. As I've said elsewhere though, Harry Kane is Harry Kane, and Harry Winks got badly injured while he was progressing and never reached his potential. If he'd bossed it ever since, he'd be forgiven anything. As it is, he's not been in a position to redeem himself even if he had done anything amiss.

H
e was used by Mourinho, and Conte kept him in the squad and said that he could count on him, despite banishing far more illustrious talents. That's good enough for me, and I hope that he finds the right move for him even if he drags it until the last day. If it was me you'd better believe I'd not leave this club until it was a suitable situation to do so.

He was terrible under Mourinho after injury but he actually showed some good things under Conte last year. He can’t play in Conte’s 2 man midfield as he is so suspect defensively but he is technically sound and was actually pretty creative (after some years of sideways) last year.

He’ll find a team this week. There are teams that play midfield 3’s that’ll be better with him in their squad.

I look at people who use "virtue signaling" the same way as those who use "cancel culture" and "the woke mob".

The world is evolving and they're stuck in their ways and don't want things to be better for other people. "I went through it so others should too".

Kind of, I do think VS and cancel culture exist to an extent - like Kevin Hart not hosting the Oscars for something he tweeted 10 years earlier. People got hold of that tweet, more and more people got on the bandwagon and all hell broke loose. That’s what I believe is a perfect example of how I’d describe cancel culture.. But your definition is also fair, just that imo, there are a good few exceptions.

With regards to Winks, I’m uncomfortable with the hate. Berbatov and Bale actually went on strike and they’re (rightly) considered legends. But their behaviour was much worse than someone allegedly going to the press during an allegedly toxic reign. His form has definitely dropped over the last few years and it’s time for him to move on but for me personally, I’ll remember the breakthrough season, the England performances and Poch’s interviews where he regularly became angry with reporters who didn’t mention Winks’ name when they’d say how good our midfield players were. He has my best wishes when he moves because I don’t personally know for sure what goes on behind the scenes and all I see is what he does/did on the pitch.

My other half met him around 4 years ago. He carried her shopping from Tesco to the car park. Even drove her home and made sure she got inside ok. He even walked her upstairs even though the kitchen is downstairs. He even showered with her to make sure she didn’t slip over. He’s a damn nice guy and even my 3 year old Harry loves him too.

I certainly don't have a gripe about what he may or may not have said in the past.

What I do have a gripe about though is that I'm not exactly sure what he does when he goes out on to the pitch to ply his trade.

And people still say he isn't creative!

Shame that we couldn’t sell him outright this window, even a great loan spell won’t increase his value as he’ll only have 1 year left on his contract when he returns.

Is there no end to Paratici's links in Serie A . I do hope Winksy does well with Samp but the number of English players to have done well in Italy is pretty limited.
