Oh and for the Davies and Dier hater who reckoned Davies was always slipping over, didn't noticed one slip by Davies, and a lovely goal by Dier. Both defended well also.
Those two get so much shit on here. Both great today, gutted Davies' long-ranger didn't hit the net.

Sitting on train home from Victoria so finally able to get on here. Don't know how it came across on TV, but I thought we were in control for the majority of the game.

Also a question to those who have gone since covid and last season, has Metallica always been in the intro or is it a new thing for this season?

Seems it's new this season

That was very satisfying. 4 goals (none of which from our main goal threats), 3 points, no injuries.
We controlled the pace of the game and looked very comfortable; yes Southampton weren’t great but we didn’t let them settle, showed patience when needed, gave each other options and looked half a yard quicker.
Very encouraging and just goes to show pre-season results/performances shouldn’t be worried about too much…..

I noticed today none of the fucking about at the back today. Really helped us. I also remember some of the know nothings on here giving me sarcastic funnies when I said we should cut it out
Love it ?
Did we not play out from the back? That’s very not Conte ball. Are you sure? (Haven’t seen the game myself yet)

Kulu easy MOTM today

Could have been tricky going 1 down but luckily we got back into it pretty quickly and it helped that Southampton were absolutely shocking

That own goal was special!! Baring Djenepo they’ve got nothing other than Mr Free Kick!

Took my lad today and we always seem to play well when he comes, might need to organise a whip-round in here :cautious::LOL:

Not sure how it felt on telly but we really seemed to somehow cruise to that win. Very comfortable performance with a great duel between Sessegnon and KWP.

Deki clear MOTM, if Son and Kane had been on his level today it would’ve been a cricket score. 4-1 win with ever really getting out of second gear bodes well for the season, once the new additions get bedded in. Even the atmosphere never really got going, never felt like we were in any danger even when we went behind

I like Conte’s post-match response to being asked why he didn’t start any new signings.
Basically said these guys got us champions league football and the new signings have to displace them. Sends the right message to the whole squad going forward.

Thought we were great today. Yes, there were a few blips in concentration at times and some sloppy passing but you're never going to get a full 90 minutes of complete domination in the PL. We had a real cutting edge when we went forward today.

It’s good that we now have such a great strike force that when one or two of them are not at their best, we can rely on the other/s to get the goals / assists.
