Yep happens at all levels. Would be almost more insulting if they did take him on the tour and not play him at all.
At least this way the situation is very clear for both sides. Been a long time coming that we acted like a big well organised club and make it very clear to the plans not in the mangers plans to find a new club or basically train with the reserves etc, it’s just the way football is, you’re either good enough and/or in favour or you’re not.
No need for hate towards Winks, in the right system he can be a tidy player but he doesn’t really excel at any part of the game as a midfielder and will be good for him and us if he moves on and gets a fresh start.

I hope winks gets a bit of love from the fanbase when he does leave. I've whinged about him like most have, but he doesn't lack for effort and is a proper spurs boy.

I saw a report they were looking at Barkley again along with Gueye. The latter a good move but the former brainless. So they obviously want midfielders. Winks would be a better purchase.

It’s a quandary. Lower level teams in the PL don’t play, and don’t need, a possession-style CM. And, for teams that are more possession based, Winks is not good enough.

Sanchez isn't going anywhere and will be given every opportunity to develop into the player he always should have under Conte, while providing solid back-up to Romero (and unfortunately Davies/Lenglet). As a RCB he'll do absolutely fine in this system, although obviously we'll always see a drop-off from the wunderkind that is Cute. But you're not going to get a better quality second RCB very easily or very soon.

They still need more midfielders though I think. Teams will want players towards the end of the window. I bet he goes but for a disappointing fee.
