Inter forum makes for interesting reading.

The general consensus is "he's a really key player and we shouldn't sell...but our owners are fucking idiots so of course we will sell".

A few of them seem convinced he's untouchable and/or shouldn't be sold for less than like 80-100m, whereas some of them are completely resigned to the fact he's going and are expecting around 60m because of the owners.

- If the club sells him for anything less than 80M, I`ll take a break until new ownership takes over.

- Of course it's going to be less than 80m, not even fucking close to that.

- No matter what out finance situation is, 60mil€ of Bastoni would be simply unacceptable and a valid reason for the ultras to go apeshit against Suning.

- Skriniar, Barella, Bastoni are the red lines for me. I'd accept Lautaro over them, De Vrij + Dumfries, etc.

- Skriniar-Bastoni-Barella-Brozovic-Lautaro. This 5 are our core. Can't sell any of them.

-not in Suning eyes. Suning company see them as money machine. What can we do about that?

etc.

This one will happen IMO.

Inter really want Bremer and need to raise cash.

I just hope City/Chelsea/Utd don’t gazump us at the last second.

this is always the caveat, we can't shop in the same pond as them ( maybe not so much man utd ) i think paratici knows though, and has hopefully been in his ear since january, and im sure i saw an article saying bastoni owes everything to conte? surely thats in our favour.

This would be a phenomenal signing if we pull it off. One that would properly send out a statement.

Yeah that’s my fear. You’d hope we could convince him to join us over Chelsea or United but you just don’t know you.

Chelsea have a huge reputation of winning major trophies recently unfortunately and can also offer CL, United are a massive club still. If City are in for him we have no chance.

Maybe those other clubs have other targets. We can only hope with Conte and FP they’ve already laid the ground work for a while already and really sold him the project, which would mean even if another club come in he’s already set on us.

I think both are looking at Cucurella who is currently playing LB/LWB for Brighton but has also played at LCB. I could see City signing him to cover LB and CB, essentially upgrading Ake.

Chelsea I think are going for Kounde firstly and then will look at Bastoni, Gvardiol and Torres, similar to us.

Don’t forget when it comes to a choice for Bastoni this is how he feels about Conte:
“He consecrated me, I owe him 90% of what I am today. He passed on a lot to me in terms of technique and mentality. Not everyone lets a 20-year-old makes his debut at Inter.”

I don't think City will go for him, but could definitely see Chelsea being a serious threat if any of their other targets fall through, or they make signing him a priority. They desperately need a LCB and he seems like an obvious choice.

As you say, we just need to hope that the Paratici/Conte factors are enough and if we make it clear he's our no.1 choice and move decisively, then he'll come our way.

Wouldn't surprise me if he went to Chelsea, but this summer feels like the first in a very long time, where some players might see us as a more enticing project than them if we pitch it right and offer competitive wages.

I've also seen plenty of reddit saying they'd rather sell anyone else other than him.

What is so exciting about Conte is the degree to which he improves players. At the start of the season I was looking at our team and wondering who was really good enough to be competing in a top 4 squad, let alone contenders to titles.

Davies, Dier, Doherty, Sess would not have been on the that list. We all felt we needed a complete squad overhaul and it was depressing to think where to start. But Conte has come in and improved everyone to such an extent that players like Dier are pretty much nailed on first teamers and someone like Ben Davies is the perfect cover for a world class LCB like Bastoni.

Even players like Doherty and Emerson, who we clearly needed to get rid of, are now very much in the picture. I'm sure at least one of those will be sold, but the conversation has morphed from demanding neither ever play in a Tottenham shirt again, to wondering which one deserves to be dropped.

It's quite amazing really.

Does anyone on here (far more capable than me) have the ability to share the thoughts of inter Milan fans on the prospect of selling A Bastoni to us?

What are their thoughts? Any of them happy and think we are making a mistake?
I just messaged my Italian Inter supporting next door neighbour "What do you think of Bastoni, rumours are we're trying to prise him away...?"

His reply: " Mate, I'm not talking to you anymore if that happens..."
followed by "he's young, good skills, good vision. If I was Inter I'd only let him go for €100m, not silly €60. Oh I hate the club..."
