A win away at Wolves feels great. And its another clean sheet and we have full score from pur two PL games. Perfect.
The last years i feel coming to Wolves is never easy. They are a decent side.
But today shows how bad we need this rebuild. There no creativity in midfield. And at times we struggle to keep the ball. Our defense seems shaky. Glad Romero is here, and hoping for another.

I must admit that I'm much more pessimistic regarding the whole season after this match. It's worrying that we (once) again looked so reactive and passive for the majority of the match. We were so aggressive and brave against City in our pressing and today we saw nothing of that.

Granted, it was an away match and Wolves are no push-overs. But this season won't be any different than last season, despite bringing in the likes of Romero at the back, if we're going to let teams completely steamroll us. With a little luck Wolves score 1 or 2 goals today and better teams probably score more than that. We know from last season that you can't sit back and be satisfied with creating 2-3 good chances per match. It worked as long as Kane+Son was in-form, then it all crumbled and burned.

I believe in Nuno. But it just dawned on me now how much time it's going to take for us to rebuild this squad, especially now with Kane seemingly staying and us being without a sh*tload of cash to inject. The silver lining is that at least we have DOF who knows what he's doing and there's still time to act on the transfer market.

(Better team) City-we won 1nil. Because we hassle every ball opposition players snatch at shots, over play passes and get fuddled on the ball. This was Italy’s secret in the Euros hassle, hassle , hassle. The counter needs to improve to create more chances.
I wonder if people recall how much this was the secret of the Pochettino team. Eriksen and the other midfield and attacking players just never gave the opposition any rest. It requires extreme fitness, which the players lost under Mourinho. They appear to have it back.

There no creativity in midfield.
Agree- they’re too busy defending which is destructive whereas we need some creativity to open up games. Players that can hold or run with the ball and pass productively. They do good work as a line of defence just need that attaching presence.

We miss a Eriksen type player who’s intelligence gave that little bit more than just defend and counter- if you get what I mean.

When was the last time we had two prem-clean sheets in a row?
Anybody remember when we were at home to Man Utd at Wembley . They won 1-0 and we had about 11 clear chances. Combination of poor finishing and great performance by De Gea.
These games sometimes happen , take the points and move on.
If we continue to play like that we WILL get a hiding off someone.
Hope the team will look better balanced on Sep 1st.

Got to laugh at the over reaction on that performance. 2 games in with a new manager, transfer window still open, 2 clean sheets, max points on the board and a fantastic win against Man City to boot...
And we're doomed lol.
Get a grip ffs.

I thought the r/coys match thread was a toxid dump of idiots, but having experienced this one for the first time, it seems it's spreading.

Honestly think the clowns complaining aren't real Spurs fans. They have to be trolls trying to stir it up. Either that or they haven't got a clue about football. Taking 3 points away to a team playing their first game at home for a year and a half is a MASSIVE result.
