He's been a great servant over the years but we need to refresh. Too many players have been here too long. Lamela is coming off one of his best seasons for us. Maybe the move from the Poch training sessions helped him recover better under Jose. Always seemed to be a sub option though. These are the players that need to be replacedwith young and hungry prospects. A swap with Gil is perfect.

I wish him well in Spain. He should do well with Sevilla.

Best of luck to ol' shark eyes, he played every minute of football like it was his last.

Normally was for 2 months afterwards.

Was never the player we hoped for, but he will be my most loved "flop" ever. Dude gave everything for us. Good luck, Erik!!!

If it happens I can see him doing well is Spain. Will look out for the disbelief on his face though when he gets his first red card

Thanks Coco. Didn’t always work out but always gave everything. Hope he can stay fit and he’ll always be welcomed back.

As much as I really like Erik- a painful refresh is required and if this deal goes through it could be great for everyone involved
Thanks and good luck

Never really lived up to his billing but always gave 100% which is more than can be said for a lot of them.

Gracias y mucha suerte Erik.

A likeable fella, but he has done nowhere near enough in the 8(!) years he has been at the club. Also because he is one of the most injury-prone players you'll ever see at this club.

Some great memories though!

I love Lamela because he actually cared about the club and you can tell that. He wasnt the best and expected more given the hype at the time but it is what it is. Needed a change and hopefully the start of many - no room for sentiments now.

I love him cos he gave a fuck. Sad to see him go but it hasn't worked out how we wanted. Will remember the rabonas and the assist against city fondly

For all the talk about injuries - he has played more PL games for us than the likes of Bale, Rose, Jenas, Robinson or Justin Edinburgh who were all first teamers for ages

Always looked like he needed that little bit more time on the ball than he had in the prem.

Wouldn't slate him though and always busted a gut when he played.

Sounds like a good move for everyone.

Not saying he didn't give his all just he wasn't good enough. Sad to see him go as he's fully Spurs been here what 8 years? Gave everything he had. Truth is though should've been moved on few seasons ago happy to be upgrading him
