In fairness, those are three very good centre backs who would all improve us too, especially the latter two (I think Christensen probably gets picked in part because of who he plays for at club level).
I like Andersen, even in a poor side he looked good, he’s very comfortable on the ball with either foot and he’s a big fucker. Would need a partner with a bit of pace but our best CB combination in living memory had not much pace at all so it’s all about how he reads the game and how the side is set up. If we’re looking at him and the fella from Bologna, it’s at least fairly consistent in the type we’re targeting (though TT appears to be quick).
In a deep-lying back 4 the centre backs can get away without having any pace but in a back 3 they tend to play higher up the pitch… having no pace in the back 3 is a disaster in the making. The likes of Liverpool, City and Utd will just play the ball over the top and we’ll be left scrambling to get back. You can mitigate this by having quick and strong wingbacks ala Walker as they can get back to bail the CB’s out but we currently don’t have pace and power in our full/wing back positions.
