Levy's statement has understandably not gone down well but to a limited degree I understand and agree with the points he's making

Make no mistake, UEFA is profiting handsomely off of the Champions League and Europa League, but nobody knows just how much they (or their executives) are making off with because there's no transparency. Other than operating expenses, which should be minimal, that money rightly belongs to the federations. That should change.

Moreover, perhaps the only good aspect of the Super League is that it would have ended financial doping among the member clubs. The proposed spending cap would have ensured that no club spent more than it earned in revenues. We have been tolerating the likes of City and Chelsea spending far, far beyond their means for years and it's a big part of why so many clubs are financially distressed after Covid, as everyone has had to spend at unsustainable rates to keep pace with the financial dopers. That was going to be solved within the Super League and this should be an opportunity to implement genuine FFP with teeth.

Having said all that the PR aspect of the statement was horrible. There's a time and a place to address UEFA profiteering and the lack of real FFP in the game, and this statement was not it.

You think our statement was bad wait til you see Liverpool’s

FSG have absolutely nowhere to hide on it, can't even peddle the type of bullshit in our statement, they've been wanting something like this since they bought Liverpool. Now that it's been sunk almost immediately I expect they'll be looking for an exit.

So erm, we gonna have any money for this summers transfers?
Levy “unfortunately due to the collapse of the European Super League next season we shall not be active in the transfer market, but we know Ryan Mason and Chris Powell are capable of working wonders with the fantastic group of players already here and believe whole heartedly in their ability to convert Mussa Sissoko into a striker, full back and central defender thus negating our need for new player. We at Spurs value the support of our fans in these difficult times.”

Tbf to Levy, if we have been paid a hefty sum to leave the Super League then he has played a blinder. Being rewarded for being twats. Good effort.

The words don't matter. Any club who says they are 'sorry' are lying. They are all just variations of "Shit, that Super League was going to be lit. Now we're going to have to slum it with Burnley again. Fuck. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck."

That statement from Levy is fucking shit

Did you really expect any better?

Maybe I’m just too cynical, and maybe I shouldn’t be surprised, but I’ve found I have been by the amount of people who seem genuinely surprised and shocked even that Levy and ENIC could have something to do with this.

They’ve been giving bland and bullshit statements to us for yearsand couldn’t really give a fuck about the fans.

They simply do what they think they can get away with, with the bare minimum of risk to themselves and the vast pot of money they are sitting on.

All this “doing things the right way” stuff is just another way of saying “doing things in the most risk free way to us whilst still getting the biggest ROI”.

And yeah I know there are worse owners out there, but I just don’t get the “I thought they were better than this, they’ve let me down” sentiment.
