I think it was both, the switch off caused the deterioration.
I think his deterioration became a tangible thing as soon as he publicly stated that he was interested in a new challenge.
From that point onwards, a section of fans could easily blame any/all mistakes made by him in the fact that ‘he doesn’t want to be here’
And of course, ignore the other contributing factors that lead to both his, and the clubs decline in form.

kane, son, dele all injured for periods of time

Sub-par replacements who (even now) still show much less understanding of cohesive team play (Lucas/lamela/sissoko etc)

Burnout through playing every single game, whilst playing through his own injury

to be fair, Eriksen always had dips in form. He would directly influence play (goals/assists) in patches, then drop off. Always a hard one to put in your fantasy team for that reason.
But to continue being fair, he was never a tough tackling midfielder, but always lead the team in interceptions and distance covered.
It’s a shame his time with us is measured in some people eyes by the last 18months, because for the 2-3 years before that he was a significant part of our success.

maybe those people who got so upset about Eriksen ‘phoning it in’ might target their radars on Lloris from now on in that case.

We should expect nothing less than a victory today. If this fails to materialise, then the toxicity on the board will be at fever pitch.

If we don't see Rodon today, I do worry about what's going on with him and Mourinho. He's got the potential to be a very good centre-back and this is a perfect game for him.

For me Rodon is our best defender in the air and that could be important against Wood and Barnes. Play him with Toby alongside for his experience.

Do you think one of them has made sexual advances towards the other?

Whilst I tend to agree with you I suspect Jose doesn't. I believe one of our biggest issues is finding to CB's that play well together & provide us with a reliable base for the rest of the team & that means 2 CB's that don't make mistakes individually or collectively.

This made me laugh. As if it hasn't been like that after pretty much any game we don't win (and some we have) ;)

Or maybe even in a back 3 with Doherty/Aurier and Reggie pushing up. Anything could happen with Mourinho going full on Ranieri tinkerman mode.

TBF as it should. If we lose this one we really are in trouble.

The two things that led to it were he was pulling out of 50-50s and rarely got into a sprint. When he was on it, he was racing to help protect the team. However, when he did start his bad patch most thought it was form and then he came out and said he wants to leave. It was 1+1 =2 in the end.

As much as I believe in experience being helpful, Toby hasn't been great either. I think Jose should challenge Tanganga and Rodon to make the CB partnership their own and give them 5 to 10 matches to start gelling.

If Bergwijn, Lucas or Lamela start over Dele or Bale today questions need to be asked tbh, as we clearly aren’t picking on form

Should start integrating Tanganga and Rodon in to the team over the next three games. Front six picks itself for me.

Picking on form would actually mean picking Lamela or Lucas, and not Dele. He’s had one match that yes was good but under entirely different circumstances. Scoring a stunning goal vs. Wolfsberg does not mean ready to tear up Burnley.

Not only that, but the toxicity is often a direct product of the fact that people do expect us to win almost every game we play.

This is one to record then flick through in about five minutes to see if there are an highlights. So happy not to be there in person having watched too many such games when we were good let alone now when on form we must be the underdogs. Will take a 1-0 scrappy win
