Really really terrible low level spanish. It's cringe worthy spanish in all honesty, in a set up interview as well. But, it is what happens if you are shy and don't challenge yourself. I hope he is better now!

Are we so linguistically inept in this country that anyone who can string a sentence together in a foreign language somehow knows the language!

I only speak English so am in no position to judge someone who has it as a second language. They can already speak their own language fluently so If they know even a handful of English words then add it all up and they already know more than me and I respect that.

If you're French and you can't find your cat which is on the table in the garden, fuck yeah, i'm your man, but anything more than that... sorry.

It doesn't work that way!! He speaks some spanish. If this was a spontaneous interview, there is no way it is, he would speak decent conversational level Spanish with good comprehension but terrible pronunciation. If it was set up, which it was, this is like about a years worth of Spanish if you are going to a class for about 2 hours a week, but not enough to hold any real meaningful conversation. Or, say, understand tactical instructions.

But the reason why we are watching a video from 2015 and not, say 2019 is because very few interviews exist. If he can speak to a decent level he hasn't helped combat that perception, by his unwillingness to try.

It's good you respect that, and we should. I live in Spain and my spanish isn't the level it should be. But the criticism is levelled because of his unwillingness, and frankly it is warranted as someone who is fundamentally in a workplace in the said language and has the money and the time to invest in it.

I was very critical of Jose to the point of actively saying I didn't want him as our manager after the Bournemouth game. I've never particularly had an issue with the football he plays, I will take any style that suits the squad we have and helps us win matches, but it felt dull and lifeless, the players had no spring in their step, they weren't creating anything, the solid defence that Mourinho always builds his teams around was anything but, and he was making the exact same personnel and tactical mistakes that did for Poch.

But all credit to Mourinho, the whole squad and staff for the way they've got it together in the last three games, and from a tactical point of view this was the best of the lot.

Brilliant performance today, sure it was against a weakened Leicester back line but that for me was the best we've played under Jose and that was the most signs of a proper peak jose mouriniho side's style of play that we have seen so far.

We were so clinical right from the off, managed the game brilliantly. Yes they had more posession and shots but we absoloutely were in control of that game pretty much throughout, i never really felt like they were going to score, at worst one goal but once it was 2 and 3-0 that was game over and that is a hallmark of a well functioning mouriniho side.

Many positives today and some great recent results and form, onwards and upwards.

Exactly. Every one of my traders speaks very good English, some of them having been here only a couple of years. They have made the concerted EFFORT to integrate by learning the language. Bale did the opposite and (in addition to his other antics) does not reflect well on him at all.

Just hope we take this form into the last game and into next season. Really not bothered about possession stats if we put 3 past them and look solid at the back.
