you do know that a rule has been introduced called FFP don't you. because we have a high value on the market doesn't mean we can go out and spend 300m and add the wage increase and stay in that

Yes we certainly could have done if we had so chosen to do so.

FFP is over 3 years, and infrastructure (so stadium and training ground) and certain other costs, including youth development are added back to our already large profits for FFP purposes.

but without Lewis putting that money in out of his own pocket when he isn't the outright owner, then how do you spend 300m when building a stadium, while in a 36k capacity stadium. I know Chelsea did it, but that was way before FFP, City have done it and if the reports turn out to be true that they broke FFP then they won't be spending big any 1 season for a while and might suffer a CL ban and a transfer ban.

I find it so hard to believe how anyone can't see the progress we have made over the 19 years. god knows what you would of been like if Sugar was still running the club

Not only over 3 years but players fees are amortised over their contracts according to ffp.

Problem is cashflow though.

You are mixing up 2 things totally.
One, meeting Financial Fair Play. In the scenario you gave, we certainly could spend that money and meet financial fair play.
Two, having the cash to do it, as we had spent on infrastructure (but we could have taken out extra loans or had ownership investment for the 300m and wages you state and still meet FFP easily)

City FFP is due to them overstating intra-company sponsorship deals (in effect overstating income) and hiding players wages with a third related party paying them image rights (understating expenditure) to allow them to break even. Without them they would fail FFP, and if UEFA doesn't fall to political pressure from Middle East they will be held accountable, those discrepancies disallowed and will fail FFP, and face the consequences, likelihood a European ban, as the previous massive fine did not do the trick.

was we challenging for anything when we decided to build the stadium, and Man C never had new owners?

what do you expect the club to of done once we started looking good, stop putting the money into the stadium because we might win a trophy (no guarantee).

if we sign Sess and GLC will you see that as backing the manager

our profits before playing at Wembley was nothing compared to it, and the only 2 windows we never spent more than what we took in was due to Bale going, and last season, and we spent most of what we got for player sales that window of Bale.

why we was still at WHL we could no way of injected that sort of money, and pay the wages and stay in FFP.

god I don't understand it, perhaps I've seen us win trophies and it was great, but in those days you never had clubs out spending other teams to the ratio of today. everyone saying Liverpool did it last season, but what have they purchased this summer. they haven't strengthened and with VAR they won't get close to City

Why are you quoting me to answer those questions for you ?
I just stated that you were totally erroneous in your statement you made about FFP, that's all
My view to how the business is run, and whether we are backing the manager etc, are totally irrelevant to that.

because with building the stadium and being at WHL the wage increase due to buying players that needed to take us up another level, and keep the rest of the squad happy would of been impossible to stay within. you can only increase your wages a certain level each season compared to your in take, the last season at WHL we lost 8k fans every week plus merchandise that went with it. we got dumped out the CL and Europa.

Why are you going back in history to an exact point of time ?
You said that we can't spend 300m and wages now and stay within FFP (that is totally false)
Sorry, you are totally losing me here with your questioning, I will put it down to it being late at night

Watched it again and there’s no question he was fuming from the second he sat down. Could have asked him if it was Tuesday and he would have gone off on a rant. But really it could be anything, just having a bad day. He had a heavy media work load in Asia maybe just fed up of it. To me it looked like something immediate like he’d just had an argument with someone or got some bad news just before going in. If he was in a calm mood I very much doubt he would have reacted like that. But ultimately he didn’t really say anything. All I think he was trying to say is that he’s not involved in the nuts and bolts of signing a player.

Which isn't news but people seem to think he is 'ruffling feathers'

I think the media guy to his right needs to be more forthright. Stop him having to answer these repeated questions. If we kept a tighter reign on the journalists line of questioning then poch wouldn’t even be able to make these comments.

The club need to stop putting him in the position. It could all be halted pretty easily. The press would soon stop with the questioning if we tried to dictate it more.

Not sure the club responding in the press to his position is very helpful.

Might not be happy with what's been said or the way it's been spun. Spurs pr team just doing their job i guess.

They haven't said anything new though. We've known for years how the system works. Pleat explained it, levy explained it.

No it's not any new information as you say but they've basically released the information to show it's at odds with what Poch is coming out with, interestingly at the same time the team was catching the flight home no less. There's certainly at least a small amount of animosity behind closed doors about what is happening this window.

Personally still backing Levy to deliver this summer, must admit I'm starting to become a little irked at Poch in the media as a whole but can understand in this instance he has to use what leverage he can to apply pressure.

Some of you lot wouldn't even see the woods for all the trees. I think it is ridiculous that after all these years with Pochettino, that several posters go "oh, he didn't say anything, it's blown out of proportion, nothing to see here blah blah blah". Rightly or wrongly, Pochettino has and will use the media as a way to put pressure internally. He has a very blatant media strategy to promote himself and his interests.

It's not at odds with what poch has said. Poch has input in targets but doesn't do negotiations. So does not want to be asked about transfer or contract negotiations as levy deals with that.

Outlay so far £54 mill on Ndombele, £9.9 mill. on Clarke, approx £50 mill. loan repayment on stadium loan = £113.9 mill , last reported profits £113 mill. so it's already been spent, really need to eat more sausage rolls starting this Sunday to boost transfer funds
