So is that a good laughing smiley, or a bad laughing smiley, regarding Ndombele? My emoji linguistic skills are not up to scratch
I think just a jovial laughing face as I was pushing it as the poster said about lo Celso and he gave a positive reply and ndombele cards are close to chest

I'm expecting a couple of sales that people might not expect - like Dier instead of Wanyama, and possibly Moura if Bale returns to us....

Context matters; could be either. At face value, I would say bad but we can read between the lines a little bit given other information available to us.

I really think Wanyama is gone and if you have read Poch's book you'll see why he said things will be 'painful' because it's clear he's very fond of Vic.

If we're operating this window with the CL money as the fund and the rest is just player sales it's quite depressing. I was under the impression we'd have 150m+ to buy with this window. Just Lo Celso and Ndombele would be 120 or more if the figures in the media are correct. Add Clark and Sessegnon and we're already up at 160-170M. 60+ for Lo Celso, 60-70 for Ndombele, 20-25 for Sessegnon and 10-15 for Clark, right?

We posted a 140 million pound profit last season so any or all of that money could have been spent on players if we wished and it may still be in the clubs bank account (minus tax).
Also worth bearing in mind our financial year ends on June 30th (and we can assume a similar giant profit this season) so we would probably want to spend a chunk of this season's profit before that to avoid another 25 million out the door in tax.
Then we could also dip into the projected profit of next season in July/August (again we would expect a similar profit assuming wage increases etc are offset by increased matchday profit and the stadium payback being covered by the extra revenue it generates).

So the potential to spend 160-170 million without accruing debt is there if we want to.

I’ve seen a few of these. Are we instantly forgetting about Alli?

I also think it's significant that we were after players such as Ndombele and Sess last season, as it adds weight to the ITK that the money was there but Poch didn't want to compromise on the players he wanted, as we're back in for them now.
This would also suggest that that money is still there as well.

We are indeed at somewhat of a crossroads, signing Lo Celso and losing Eriksen when we still haven't replaced Dembele properly doesn't really move us forward, unless we add Ndombele which is imo fanciful to say the least...we need a dynamic RB and potentially a CB if Toby moves on....losing Moura and keeping Lamela isn't exactly a forward step either...its all one big conundrum for sure...

I agree with this. I’m ready for Eriksen to go and while Lo Celso freshens that position up, it doesn’t add any depth.

We need options. If Eriksen goes and Lo Celso comes in, we still need at least 1 more playmaker or wide forward.

This would be unbeatable IMO:

-----------Kane-----------
Son-----Alli-----Eriksen
-Lo Celso--N'Dombele-
---Sissoko---Winks----
Sess-Verts-Toby-AWB
-----------Lloris-----------
