Am I the only one who thought he was talking to someone he knew in the crowd? Fair play to him if he did just go over to show his appreciation.
I see your point. I still see it as a shame. Yes he didn't acknowledge the bad things about Trippier, but all he was doing was defending the lad with as much passion as those with opposing views were lambasting him.
The difference is he was (largely) alone whilst the pack circled & mauled him.
I just don't like seeing people being constantly goaded, which I personally think was largely the case with Paolo. It's like bullying, which is just a massive bug-bear with me.
But in the interest of parity, he could also have easily used the old "agree to disagree" line, but often opted to fight his corner instead.
I stand by my original point though. It'd be a shame if he's been driven out because he held a minority opinion.
Didn't click the link but saw the tail end of the headline and though "Cancelo - weren't we linked with him a couple of years ago?" A quick Google and apparently he's leaving Juve for £52m to... you guessed it... Man City. They'll have spent more on fullbacks over the last couple of years than our entire squad cost!Only stating what is being reported @tiger666

I'm inclined to agree, although personally I don't feel as though I've seen enough of Serge to know what to think of him. But there will be riots if we keep both...Not had a good season but I'd keep him and sell Aurier. Loan out KWP and sign a new RB.
I'd be fine with either Trip or Serge as the 2nd choice RB. Won't be sad whomever leaves or stays as long as we get someone better to start.I'm inclined to agree, although personally I don't feel as though I've seen enough of Serge to know what to think of him. Nice are being bought apparently, so no idea if that makes I harder for usAtal please
Quotes in the Evening Standard yesterday say in an ideal world he wants to stay in the PL if we do sell him. Doesn’t want to move abroad but says it’s ultimately out of his hands.I’d be amazed if he wants to leave England with such a young family.
One thing I will say about him which struck me was during the Bournemouth game when down to 9 men, it was him doing the reorganising and passing on the message from the coaching staff as to how we were to set up. He was given the responsibility.
I think we will keep one of either him or aurier and it will be whoever we can sell first will go. Trippier is bound to be easier to move on.
Probably ensures we get the most money for him too.Quotes in the Evening Standard yesterday say in an ideal world he wants to stay in the PL if we do sell him. Doesn’t want to move abroad but says it’s ultimately out of his hands.
If Tripp were to leave, I hope we move in for Meunier.
I think he's proven, but his quality has taken a drastic backwards step this season. His effort and work rate are unquestioned.Never doubted his professionalism, something like this doesn't surprise me, he just isn't good enough.
