Be very happy with £30 mil for KT. However, it’s crazy that Juventus are in for him. Think that he could go from having a poor season with us to playing with Ronaldo and winning the Italian league.

They announced already? Quick on it this season

City apparently closing in on Cancelo.

Come on Juve show us the money! £30m for Tripps would be fantastic business.

If it helps us sell Trippier to Juve that’s great for Spurs. But Fuck Man City, I absolutely despise them. They’re legitimately about to have 50mil backups at every position.

We could have bought Cancelo the summer we sold Walker though.

For me updgrading RB for next season will be our most important signing of the summer. Modern football requires full backs that can dictate the game and that was something that we seriously lacked last season.

Didn't click the link but saw the tail end of the headline and though "Cancelo - weren't we linked with him a couple of years ago?" A quick Google and apparently he's leaving Juve for £52m to... you guessed it... Man City. They'll have spent more on fullbacks over the last couple of years than our entire squad cost!

Also, rather amusingly, Juve will potentially replace the player who's going to replace Walker with a player deemed not good enough to be Walker's replacement. o_O

Surely he'll be replacing Danilo and competing with Walker? Or are there rumours that Walker is leaving?

Quotes in the Evening Standard yesterday say in an ideal world he wants to stay in the PL if we do sell him. Doesn’t want to move abroad but says it’s ultimately out of his hands.

Why is it out of his hands? If he doesn't want to go abroad he can refuse to sign for a foreign team. He might have to accept playing for a less prestigious English team, but it's not like he has no say in the matter.

James Horncastle (Italian Football Expert) was saying yesterday that Juventus have spoken to Trippier, but their interest isn't as strong as Napoli's was earlier in the year.

Would we have Walker back?
If Tripps is definitely going, then I'd welcome him with open arms.

Just a question for the Trippier haters and in general really, with kwp not ready and Aurier not fit/or played for some reason.

Who will be our first choice rb next season?

I am guessing all the people who have watched Wan bissaka now realise he is not the second coming. So who, some foreign import as our immediate first choice?

Seems madness to me, Aurier would be my first choice to sell and then get someone in to slowly work in as first choice.

Then sell Trippier.

Why would we willingly sell a first choice player even if he hasn't been that good this season, it makes no sense.

Because he's a liability in defense, and we need to get rid of the liabilities in our squad.
There have been so many occasions this season where his response to threats has been slow and ponderous, it’s been frustrating to watch. And it’s cost us too many times

Maybe, but he is better than what we have, so why sell him?

Wouldn't it be better to wait until we have a first choice rb who is not a 'liability'?

I understand that. I'm just hoping the club have a RB lined up, because I can't have another season with Trippier at RB.

A good RB is hard to find though, some potential replacements have already been named in this thread, who I would be happy with.

I think the broader point is:

- we need to get a new RB, last season showed that
- that means there’ll be at least one outgoing
- but it doesn’t make sense to sell both
- so if you have to sell one, do you go for the more valuable HG first team player, or Aurier?

I think there’s just as strong an argument for selling (the injury prone) Aurier personally
