Reading it back, it is a bit confusing. I was trying to say that United beating us was a massive victory for them and probabaly a fair part of why they jumped at signing Ole. If they hadn't gone on that run, they likely wouldn't have signed Ole. Meaning they would be going full guns blazing at Poch. But, now we have CL and they don't. We also have Poch and they don't. So, in the grand scheme, it was a good loss for us.
Thanks, I do see your point now.

I dread to ask but what would happen if we finished exactly level on points and goal difference ??

Alright, who are you and what have you done with our thePessimist?

After the game on saturday I had a ceremony in my garden. The idea was to drive out Spurs from my soul and finially be free to live a peaceful life.

Out of no where a character appeared in the flames of the fire. He looked at the me and said: Don’t let Spurs out just yet! I’ll take your pessimism. You’ll owe me one sometime in the future...

I accepted the offer and the bloke vanished into the flames.

I will forever be grateful to the guy in the flames. He saved my life that night. He saved my love for the game and for the Club.

You’ll know him by the name of @freeeki

Weirdest season ever
I can not remember any other season that I have hated and loved at the same time :cautious:

Now let's hope the lads put in a monumental effort against ajax and make this season even weirder and memorable for the right reasons :nailbiting:

@bomberH along with the points you made I’d say this really underlines the impact Europe has on a team.

Us, Chelsea, and Farcenal all struggling and all in European semifinals. I don’t think it’s just a coincidence.

United are managed by a troll doll so their form is to be expected.

I thought I’d watch a bit of AFTV and it’s revealing how most of them hate their own players. How they should all F off and get out of the club. Our fans may criticise a few of our players consistently - Trippier, Dier and Llorente come to mind - but with them it’s more a question of which ones they don’t abuse. Even their 2 strikers are being blasted for showboating and not showing up. The difference is that there is a bond between our fans and the players, most of us recognizing that our problems are caused by our squad depth being inadequate . There is zero such connection with the goons.

Their expectations are too high.

Do they think they're suddenly going to challenge a Top 2 for the title; a Top 2 who have spent between a quarter and half a billion, and who might rack up close to 100pts this season?

But you're talking about the same Arsenal who have been pounded 3-0 and 3-1 away from home against teams who have finished below them in just the last two weeks. They will have just stepped off the plane from Spain.

Yes Burnley have conceded a lot of goals this season but that's partly down to their European expedition and Joe Hart starting in goal, since then they've been more like the Burnley of last season. They didn't need the points against City but were still hell-bent on stopping them from scoring.

Dyche will know that Arsenal are coming for goals, so he'll set his team up accordingly which will be to prevent the space in behind, set up with two banks of four and take them on at set-pieces not too mention it's their last home game so they'll want to sign off with a win.

If Arsenal's away form had generally been good and they were free-scoring then I may have some concerns but I can only see Burnley scrapping them. It's what Dyche and his team like to do.

Burnley will also want to win to finish as high in the league they can for the prize money. What is it, £2 million a place. They’ve the possibility to finish 14th or 16th. £4 million isn’t short change to them. They’ll want to win.

So I’m very much between feeling great because we’ve secured too for and then feeling like we could still contrive to throw it away, the way the season has gone! Hopefully Burnley are their resilient selves and hopefully we don’t turn up thinking we can just stroll through the game, just to make sure!

Put a tenner on arsenal? 2k will help pay for your CL final trip.
