Call me old fashioned but I somehow doubt trippier planned it that way
So in answer too your question a shit cross can still end up in the net but it's by accident not design
A good cross is one that goes where you planned to put it.
Hope that helps
Try telling that to Jesus!?

Not trying to be overly smug but I doubt being nailed to lumps of wood and hanging there until you slowly croak was in anyone's plans either
He really lacks athletism. A few times in the second half he had the ball with loads of space to run into but he just couldn't, instead he put the ball in early, from a poor position, and the attack failed.
Trips, like a couple of others, seems to be in the ‘best for all parties if he moved on’ camp
He’s had a poor season and is playing like he is fully aware of this. It’s a shame but he doesn’t seem suited to how we apparently want to play
Except for playing Van der beek onside for the goal and doing his best to gift them a second by back passing it right in front of the box almost putting Ajax through on goal.He defended well yesterday but it was his attacking play which is his one trick that was dreadful.
Im one of his biggest detractors though and ill piggy back him to Napoli.

Wan Bissaka says hi.It annoys me so much the stick we give our players.
The amount that slagged off Walker and Rose when they were probably the best full backs in the league.
Trippier has not had a great season but he is still a Spurs player and there are not many right backs that are realistically available that are better. In my view Aurier and KWP are not as good as Trippier. So surely we should support him when he plays.

Agree and usually to be honest fans are fairly accurate in who they think is good enough or not. We all got Sissoko wrong but have been consistent in our opinions on most of our other players. Most have doubted if Trippier is up to the level we need for a while now and this season is just highlighting it, we went from the best RB in the league (Walker) to a mid table guy who can cross and pass fairly well but with no athleticism and have had to adapt our game as a result. Fair play to Tripps as he's taken his chance and given his all but he is a limited player and not one who a team with aspirations to win the league and CL should be carrying. This is the same for: Lamela, Dier(as a CDM), Nkoudu, Janssen etc.The fans pay the wages (and handsomely) so have every right to be critical. The criticism is often quite over the top and sometimes becomes personal, which isn't acceptable, but if supporters think a player isn't good enough what are they supposed to do? We've been grinning and bearing it for decades.
Yeah, okay - because you 'somehow doubt' that Tripper might consider whipping it with pace towards the near post.
Thats not old fashioned, its missing the point. I'm absolutely certain you wouldn't know a good cross if it hit you in the head, then went in...
Maybe you'd call that a good header...?

Has been brilliant defensively but that doesn't mean he'd be as good playing possession football and against packed defences. He's completely unproven in that respect and it's how he'd have to play if he came to us. It would be quite the risk considering how much he'd cost imo.Wan Bissaka says hi.
I’d say the young boy at Norwich would be the better bet for our style of play.Has been brilliant defensively but that doesn't mean he'd be as good playing possession football and against packed defences. Periera at Leicester who we were linked with is miles better than Trippier. God knows why we didn’t sign him.
Even Leicester have better fullbacks than us. Chilwell has been far more consistent than Rose this season unfortunately.
The players are out there but we keep failing to do the deals and sign then.
Our recruitment the last few seasons has been utter shit / non existent.
Poch needs to show now that he is ready and willing to get rid of the players who no longer cut it, and replace with better players. They are out there and they don’t all cost 70 million.
If Poch decides to stick with Trippier next season I’ll be really quite worried, for the both of them. Even at his best Trippier still had major flaws, he’s never really been good enough even at top form. He wasn’t good enough when Walker was here, we all thought it was risky promoting trippier to first choice, it worked relatively ok last season but it was hardly a huge success, but it’s fallen apart this season.
It's a tricky balancing act because you need them to be an attacking threat in the majority of games, however when you play the elite it's where their physical and defensive abilities are the real difference maker. Someone like Atal is amazing offensively but can he cope with top level wingers?
I think AWB is well worth a go. Ashley Cole wasn't the strongest offensively but had an elite career. AWB's defensive stats are incredible for one so young.
We really missed a trick with Ricardo though, he looks a great all rounder.
