It doesn't really look good for KWP . The way Trippier been KWP still can get into the team and Foyth plays ahead of him.

He really lacks athletism. A few times in the second half he had the ball with loads of space to run into but he just couldn't, instead he put the ball in early, from a poor position, and the attack failed.
It is no coincidence that he failed to make the grade at City.. They obviously deemed him a dud, got lucky at Burnley and we took a modest punt for him to be Walker's back up.. Never good enough to be our first choice full back, and you are 100% spot on to state he lacks athleticism

There’s no defending him anymore (ironically), that pass back to Toby when he was marked by 3 Ajax players was the single dumbest thing I’ve ever seen a professional footballer do.

I think you’re forgetting the time when he finished like vintage Jimmy Greaves into his own net.

We all know he shouldn't be allowed on the pitch for the rest of the season.

We all know he will start in Amsterdam.

TBF it didn't look good for KWP after he had three assists vs Bournemouth on December 26th and didn't play again in the league until February 10th when he had 2 minute cameo against Leicester.

He cant defend. He has horrible awareness and even fails miserably at the one thing he’s supposed to be good at. There is nothing left to say anymore about him but that he is shit. He shouldnt be anywhere near a football pitch in a Spurs shirt.

He defended well yesterday but it was his attacking play which is his one trick that was dreadful.

Im one of his biggest detractors though and ill piggy back him to Napoli.

I agree Tripps has been awful this season, not too good last either, but the whole team seems to have stagnated! Where's the, supposed, fantastic youth disappeared to? Add no significant signings for 2/3 years and you end up with a looming disaster on the horizon!!

I keep seeing people say take the £30m and run. Who in their right mind is going to pay £30m for a complete busted flush. He’s never been anything more than a back up squad filler. The time to sell him was after the World Cup.

It’s been months since he laid in a half way decent cross.

Wow! Not like you to over-react and forget things to try and re-enforce an agenda you hold... oh wait, that is all you do...

It was but 2 weeks ago he put the corner in to win us a CL QF...(y)

Hmm, so a good cross is one you have to work hard to get to? Really?!

Or is a good cross one that hits you and goes in, without you even having to see it...

Last night was clear confirmation that he's not good enough for the very top level. He's been a good servant for us but he is one I'd be happy to move on. If United or whoever want to pay reasonable outlay for him Levy shouldn't play silly buggers and should let him go.

Call me old fashioned but I somehow doubt trippier planned it that way ;)

So in answer too your question a shit cross can still end up in the net but it's by accident not design

A good cross is one that goes where you planned to put it.
Hope that helps :)

It's very easy to single out a statistic and try and paint a picture with it, it's almost like the internet journalists want your fury-fuelled clicks (they do), he may have given away possession the most (seems to be a lack of stats for comparison with other players or any kind of breakdown), but he was also the player who took the most risk with regards to trying to create something with passing.

Who actually had a decent passing game last night creatively? How was our movement? Did Ajax not have to work hard at all against our team that started without Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela and Son Heung Min?

Created 3 of our best chances for Llorente, Toby and Alli and also won the ball back more than any other Spurs player with 5 tackles (out of 6) and an interception, but ignore that.

The scapegoating continues to be absolutely fucking pathetic, especially after a narrow loss to a very capable side at full strength (who have already seen off Madrid and fucking Juventus) with a whole week's rest in the biggest game in the club's recent history...and a game we wouldn't even be fucking involved in if it wasn't for the contribution of players like Trippier and the rest of the team.

It is true but Foyth has looked a lot better than him in the last couple of games and he is an experienced CB. That isn't a great endorsement of Trippier's current form!

I am not one for trying to criticize another persons view on a player as we all watch the same game and often reach different conclusions. What I will say is that Trippier has been very very poor this season regardless of the players around him. The majority of us on here see that and react to it as his performance has been considerably worse than previous seasons.

I want every player to succeed at Spurs and will support the club with my last breath. However that does not preclude me from being frustrated when certain players perform poorly...not just one game or even two or three games but consistently over a long period of time. Thus I want to vent that frustration and in this case sadly it means I have to say that Trippier has been a fucking liability this season.

If he is here next year and performs well I will be the first to step up and sing his praises. Sadly for the animated discussion that goes on in this thread I believe he will be playing elsewhere and I will not shed a tear about that but I will thank him for his service and wish him well.

Trips, like a couple of others, seems to be in the ‘best for all parties if he moved on’ camp

He’s had a poor season and is playing like he is fully aware of this. It’s a shame but he doesn’t seem suited to how we apparently want to play
