Blue Moon again :)
Totally fucking robbed. An amazing piece of footballing theatre ruined by two ridiculous VAR decisions. It's why I will never truly give a shit about this competition, from it being openly rigged for TV viewer numbers to the utterly bizarre refereeing and now VAR which is aparently just another sham that doesn't do it's job. A team that hasn't won a league title in 50 years potentially winning the "Champions" league is a hilarious thought tbh. Fuck the snide diving and fouling ****s, they're welcome to it as far as I'm concerned. The league is everything and they'll never get a sniff of it because they lack any form of backbone. I do hope they go on to win it now, knowing how they got through and that they'll never win the PL would quite neatly expose the competition for what it is, a money grabbing exercise and nothing more.

I generally don't know why he's complaining about VAR, i think it was inconclusive that it hit Llorente's arm and he was off side, the linesman might have even flagged it, if they weren't told to leave marginal decisions to VAR

Even if we'd lost, that would have been one of the greatest football matches I have ever seen.

The precision, the fervour, the intensity, the complex and ever-changing tactics and most of all, the sheer determination from both sides. And our determination (with help from VAR) was greater.

It's hard to pick the good and bad performances apart. I think the important thing to say is that every player on both sides did amazing things and every player was forced into howlers by the sheer intensity of what was going on around them.

When we lost Sissoko, I thought the game was over and we'd be ripped apart. Who was left to command the space? Sure enough, we spent most of the rest of the match chasing the ball, with no one able to block up the key space and win the loose ball. But somehow our defence, augmented with Davies and Sanchez, just about clung on, despite the lack of cover.

Without Sissoko, Wanyama's lack of match fitness was finally exposed. He'd been doing OK, tackling well and taking up good positions, but on his own, his lack of acceleration and rusty passing caused all manner of trouble. But we just kept clearing the ball and finally we forced a couple of corners and Llorente scored.

I see that Llorente has 10 goals and 3 assists from his past 10 starts. He's old, but he knows how to play football against top teams. I don't think there are many people left now who think it was a bad idea to sign him. He's earned every penny we've ever paid him, not just tonight, but in multiple key/crucial matches before tonight.

Trippier spent much of the evening struggling with the pace of Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Sané, but there he was with the key ball at the key time.

And Son is gradually building his reputation, out of Kane's shadow, as one of the world's top strikers of a football. I recall a lot of people insisting as couple of years ago that Son is "not a striker". You don't hear that very often anymore. We'll have to figure out how to play a leg against Ajax without him. Who the fuck plays up front? Llorente and Moura, I guess.

Unsung heroes: Vertonghen, Alderweireld and the superb Rose. Cleared, blocked, obstructed and disrupted literally scores of Man C attacks.

In the end, the team won. We won.

Jason Cundy is a good shout for being the ultimate SC censor evasion weapon.

Cundy did score a 50 yarder off his shin against Ipswich while I was at the Reading festival. They showed the goal at the festival and some guy next to me shouted ‘I’m here for Nirvana not Jason fucking Cundy’

Amen mother fucker.
