We miss Dembele. His ability to break between the lines created so much space for the likes of Dele, Eriksen, Son and Kane.

The thing is that Eriksen alone hasn't been poor. Can anyone with a straight face say that Dele and Kane have played up to their own standard these past months? I can't. Similarly to Eriksen Kane and Alli have been chipping in with assists and goals but their overall play have been lacking.

Football is a team sport and we have been collectively bad up front. Let's just accept that and now kick on.

Dele has been poor all season it has to be said. He needs to stop fucking around with Love Island birds in nightclubs and get back to concentrating on his football.

I don’t think you can include Kane in that sorry, still scored some crucial goals and even when not scoring his build up play has been great.

Much better performance from Chris last night. He's an exceptional player. Can't judge him harshly. Everyone had a dip in form.
Last night there was a resurrection due to magic powers of coming home.

Who has been doubting his ability? I don’t think I’ve seen a single poster say he hasn’t got talent on here.

You forgotten the pearls of wisdom from buckley and mrsvdv to to mention others have you or aren't you aware of them?, there's plenty of nonsense like that in this thread.

The doesn't do it in big games rhetoric that for some reason keeps being brought up constantly, why? You even said yourself that the reason he has 10 assists this season is because he's very lucky to be playing behind Kane which is utter nonsense despite the fact that Kane has directly benefited 3 times from his assist -. people are quick to downplay his influence in matches are exaggerate his demise and will literally make stuff up just to because it goes hand in hand with their agenda.

Happy to see him put in a good display yesterday, and heard him admit to Danish tv that he owed for a couple of chances and a couple of decision making errors. To me Eriksen is a class player but he hasn't performed this season. His problem is a lot like a lot in our team; when the team Click they are wonderful, but when our team game struggles so do they. Even though Kane has scored, Eriksen assisted, Lloris shotstopping and Dele been involved in lots of goals and pre-goal build up play I just don't see any of them looking like the players they were a year/year and a half ago. Stats or not. They are all class, so they will find the form again but this is for me less about Eriksen and more about the state of our squad (which besides Jan, Toby, Sissoko and for a period Son) simply haven't been able to show the consistency in good form required. And everyone suffers as a result. Confidence in each other and selves vain, doubrs creep in and the freedom, which at times make us unstoppable, dissapears.

Sorry, didn't mean to take this off topic.

Anyway, form is temporary and class is permanent. For me Eriksen is class and I would hate for him to leave.

Indeed. But once again....to his own standard Kane has played under par. He's on 24 goals in all comps now. Compare that to 41 in 17/18 and 35 in 16/17. I'm not having a dig at Kane, quite the contrary as he'll most likely score around 30 this season as well which is remarkable. The point I'm trying to make is that we have to look at how recent form from a collective stand point rather than an individual one.

The whole squad's intensity levels have been down a notch this season. Last night they were up, and we looked like Poch's Tottenham again, including Eriksen who had a very good game IMO.

It's the old conundrum that when Eriksen plays well, the team plays well. Unfortunately for him though, that also works in reverse and when the players around him drop off a bit, he loses his mojo. If they don't find the spaces or make the runs, he can't make the passes. When he's not firing on all cylinders it seems that other aspects of his game can also suffer. 9 times out of 10 he buries the chance he got v Liverpool, but hopefully bagging a goal v Palace will re-ignite him for the run in.

I don't think he's been at his best recently, but it's not uncommon for him to go through these dips.

My real concern is trying to find a suitable replacement. There's no player anywhere near his level that is attainable imo.

Much better last night. There's no doubt, he's one of the best on the ball, when he has some time and space. And he looked more like his old self yesterday, especially in the 2nd half.
Still never seen a player more worried about getting hurt though.

Not sure if mentioned but this definitely looks to be about a contract “ yeah yeah yeah , I think , I hope “

Think you're grasping personally, could easily be saying, will that count as my goal because of deflection.

I thought he was up for Palace. A huge difference from recent games and it showed in our performance.

I’ve been critical of him this season, and whilst I still don’t think the quality was there on Wednesday but it was a marked improvement in work rate and focus, him being heavily involved in both goals because of that.

I won’t be critical of a player if he isn’t playing to his potential, providing he’s putting a shift in as I get that sometimes it just isn’t clicking
