Because everything is increasing some people's anger at the moment. Doesn't matter whether it's logical or not. People think we're being left behind because we haven't signed anybody, and they are getting more and more frustrated and desperate, and this feeds the anger.

It's gone from "we don't want Barkley" to "why the fuck haven't we signed Barkley yet?" to "our season's ruined because Barkley's had surgery and even if we do sign him we're all doomed."

If you take a step back, the whole thing's absolutely hilarious.
Exactly...we do need to strengthen but most teams are making big signings just to get to our level. One or two additions to the squad and we'll be fine

We don't need wholesale changes.
We do, however, need to strengthen our squad. We need to show some ambition in the transfer market. Every squad needs to freshen up the squad with some extra quality.
Do we want to try and win the league?
Have a real go at the Champions League? Win a cup?
This is starting to look embarrassing... View attachment 31422

I don't think that looks embarrassing at all. I see a tight knit squad that has become something special under Poch with a great team spirit. Adding to it and improving is a delicate process but it will be done if necessary.

It would be disastrous for us to stand pat and do nothing, and Levy knows it.

With the stadium to build we are skint compared to all of our cash-rich rivals, so we have to be savvy in the market. We will get some (limited, maybe 2-3 players) business done but we have to be patient.

I'd be shocked if at the end of the window we hadn't at least spent the Walker money, and probably also the money from last year's loanees and Carroll.

The Levy haters make me laugh. Had we signed Barkley a week or so ago and he had his surgery as a Spurs player they would be slaughtering him for that. Instead he is getting slaughtered for not signing him or wanting to sign a player who will miss out on pre season. Can't win with the haters whatever he does.
Exactly mate, could you believe people would slaughter him for "not wanting to sign a player who will miss out on pre-season"?! And yet, when he waits till deadline day to buy someone (and said player "misses out on pre-season"), it's hailed as a work of genius! And I respectfully disagree with you when you say he "can't win with the haters whatever he does". If that "whatever" were to include spending some of the £80 million he's garnered to date on improving the squad and buying a player our manager wants, he'd be considered a winner by everyone. Because isn't that the most important; that the team improves?

So maybe some of the to and fro ahs been about who pays for his surgery, I can see Everton saying no, why should we foot the bill for someone elses benefit and maybe we wanted it done before we paid out, might also explain why it is is only being done now, it might be very significant.

you are fooling yourself thinking its Levy, poch knows the players he wants or don't want..if poch by all media accounts really wanted barclay...then this would move, but if poch don't think he's worth pushing the boat out for..then gotta wait
Mate, genuinely, who do you think negotiates these transfers and ultimately signs the cheques: Poch or Levy?

"Most" being the sensible people, yes. But you know there's a few folk on here who...erm...aren't sensible.
There was nothing sensible about your previous post though really was there. You tried to have a dig at posters that might be frustrated with Levy by grossly exaggerating things in an attempt to belittle anyone that might question the bald messiah.

The reality is that 99% of our fanbase (BSoDL or Not) would be delighted with just one, maybe 2 quality additions. Not much to ask I dont think.

Not at all what I was doing. It was a joke. Pretty much everything I post is. You're reading way too much into it.

Mate I'm really not sure how much of what you've written here is accurate. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Take it easy spursfast!

You can't blame DL for this deal specifically, but it's obvious that the anger is from a general frustration that we have failed to land a single player so far and that's not really down to just bad luck.
