Barkley Has Surgery On Groin Injury

Ross Barkley underwent surgery today on his groin, with the injury having prevented him from travelling with the Everton team last week to Tanzania and this week to Holland. The surgery has been a success and he is expected to be able to return to play in approximately four weeks.

Ramiro Funes Mori has had a problem within his knee and has undergone further surgery in Barcelona which will require prolonged rehabilitation of a minimum of six to nine months. The defender tore his meniscus while on international duty with Argentina in March.

Bollocks!!

Fantastic, our no.1 target has surgery and wouldn't get a pre-season.

Injuries manage to plague us even between seasons; perhaps we can bid for Sane, Mane, Coutinho, Gabriel, Sanchez and maybe they'll all need surgery too!

Why do I get the sense that Barkley's injury is increasing the anger felt towards Levy?
you are fooling yourself thinking its Levy, poch knows the players he wants or don't want..if poch by all media accounts really wanted barclay...then this would move, but if poch don't think he's worth pushing the boat out for..then gotta wait

Even if it was, why would Levy care?
I mean, he wouldn't, but that wasn't the point I was making. Just seems weird that something out of Levy's control makes people more hostile towards him. I recall this happening before but I can't remember which player (could have been Berahino, which, ironically, feels like a very similar saga to this one).

If there is anger, its not because of Barkley deal. Its probably because we are only PL club to not sign anyone this window

The Levy haters make me laugh. Had we signed Barkley a week or so ago and he had his surgery as a Spurs player they would be slaughtering him for that. Instead he is getting slaughtered for not signing him or wanting to sign a player who will miss out on pre season. Can't win with the haters whatever he does.

What if we'd signed 3 world class players already this summer?

I don't see the issue buying a player who is injured for 4 weeks! Yes he may miss pre season but not as if he's out for 6 months with a ligament injury.

Because everything is increasing some people's anger at the moment. Doesn't matter whether it's logical or not. People think we're being left behind because we haven't signed anybody, and they are getting more and more frustrated and desperate, and this feeds the anger.

It's gone from "we don't want Barkley" to "why the fuck haven't we signed Barkley yet?" to "our season's ruined because Barkley's had surgery and even if we do sign him we're all doomed."

If you take a step back, the whole thing's absolutely hilarious.

We don't need wholesale changes.
We do, however, need to strengthen our squad. We need to show some ambition in the transfer market. Every squad needs to freshen up the squad with some extra quality.
Do we want to try and win the league?
Have a real go at the Champions League? Win a cup?
This is starting to look embarrassing...
