Went to the game and first one for a while I've struggled to think of someone who performed at their best, maybe Vic that's it.

Kane, Eriksen and Alli were largely anonymous but then contributed for the goal.

Either way the fact we played so poorly and still managed a draw is a very good sign.

Pep says that we are the best team if we are allowed to play, so it is very understandable for them to try to attack and make us no chances to organise. Their tactics work, but we are no longer the tottenham few years ago when 2-0 down

Yet most of their clear cut opportunities came from either errors in the middle or long balls over the top.
where did goals come from & look at other chances.. outside runs to in.. your making the mistake of watching the ball.. look what happens off the ball

Personally although we played poorly, I think we did extremely well to come away with a draw - and withstand the fairly predictable City backlash to their recent results.

It shows the resilience in the team that after getting absolutely battered by a City team flying on a revenge-inspired high, we still kept going and scored two decent goals (I'm sure Kane was offside for the second) and got a draw from a game where in previous years we probably would've got battered by four or five goals.

Kane was ahead of Otamendi but level with Zabaleta.

If Lamela was fit he would have been a better option than Erikksen in a game of this magnitude. I think people have forgotten the work rate that he has. Looks like a return is coming soon so we will have him to come back. Top 4 wont be a problem...but the Title will take a lot of luck so we should go all out to win a cup. I'm 40 yrs of age so I can remember a lot of bad Days and Players at our Club...So we all should rejoice with what we have right now. Always proud to be a Spur:)

That was one hell of a game, and the first major test we've really had. Man city absolutely threw themselves at us as if their lives depended on it, and we were always on the back foot. That we levelled that game is immense for us. Wanyama was a monster for us and city forced us to run ourselves into the dust. I am very proud of our lads.

That will likely be the biggest test for us, and we weathered it with a point. Liverpool away will also be a battle of a game, but I think we've done very well today.

That would have been 5-0 3 years ago.

A snippet from the Telegraph ...

There was a left-footed foreign goalkeeper guilty of some very suspect handling at the Etihad Stadium here – and it was not Claudio Bravo. Tottenham’s impressive defensive record this season owes much to the excellence and consistency of their goalkeeper, but if Hugo Lloris was a little unfortunate with City’s first goal, heading the ball against Leroy Sane whose handball was not spotted, he will not want to see a repeat of the second. Raheem Sterling’s cross should have been comfortably smothered by the Frenchman but it squirmed out of his grasp long enough for Kevin De Bruyne to claim his first league goal for four months.

Not saying we're gonna catch The Chavs but to say they have the league wrapped up at this point is a bit soon, a lot of football to play and many teams have lost huge leads in the past. Great result for us today, getting a result when we're well below par.

Exactly!
It seems easy as long as you win, but then one loss and it's all up on the air. Confidence, luck etc starts to turn and it seems like a mountain to Climb just to Get three points.

I am sure chelsea will lose points soon. Their title bid is drependant on how they react to that...

A lot of negative feelings from most people, yet we just picked up a point at the Etihad. Having beaten them last time around and recently destroying West Brom and outplaying Chelsea, a draw is always going to be disappointing. However, I'm actually feeling fairly positive. Here's why:

Despite having less possession and creating fewer chances, we earned a valuable away point. Pre-Poch, we probably would have capitulated after the second goal went in (I still remember those heavy defeats under AVB vividly). Instead, we kept our heads up and came back from 2-0 down.

We changed formation mid-game and it paid off. Poch has once again demonstrated tactical awareness, willingness to be flexible and the ability to think on his feet. Harry gave the players far less tactical direction, with us relying on the brilliance of Bale, VDV etc to turn a game against the run of play. AVB only ever seemed to have a 'plan A'.

We were clinical with our chances, once again. Next time we play one of the big teams, they'll be thinking about how we scored 4/4 chances over the course of our last two games against big teams (Chelsea & Man City), and will think twice about coming at us. Against a side like Liverpool, that is good offensively but weak at the back, this would very much play into our hands.

We're still in the title race and are in a very strong position to finish in the top 4.

I think he would have started instead of Wimmer (and instead of Dier in other recent games, before Vertonghen's injury), rather than Eriksen.

Pep says that we are the best team if we are allowed to play, so it is very understandable for them to try to attack and make us no chances to organise. Their tactics work, but we are no longer the tottenham few years ago when 2-0 down

Our only weakness is our relative lack of pace in the centre of our defense and Shitty got such an array of different skill sets that Pep can exploit us by deploying all his speed merchants.

Nevertheless, I'm still very happy with the draw for the Spurs of yore would have just folded and lose by more than half a dozen.

I wasn't anywhere near as confident before this game as I was before we beat Chelsea.

Chelsea were full of confidence, so naturally tried to continue playing the same way. We outplayed them in every area of the pitch and won 2-0.

When we beat Man City, they were in decent form and tried to play their way. We outplayed them in every area of the pitch and won 2-0.

Today, we faced a Man City team that was failing with its usual tactics, had a point to prove and has a manager that had learned from previous mistakes. As you say, they set out to stop us from playing our game, instead of trying to play their own game.
