Wimmer and Carter Vickers seem to have the managers trust. It's just a case of bedding them in slowly.
If we find another Alderweireld, nobody's complaining, mind..
A bigger problem is left back cover IMO. Rose out and we're in trouble. Davies isn't a wing back and Son isn't really a defender.

I got a few negative marks when I suggested this was our best line-up before the match - but I really like the flexibility this formation, with these players, gives us all over the pitch.
As for a new defender - not necessarily now, and in the summer, it sill depend on how close Carter-Vickers really is to contributing. I think Vertonghen could play in the middle, if something happened to Dier or Toby. Plus, we still have the flexibility to move back to a 4-man back line if necessary.

Rated him since his match against Barcelona when he was in Celtic, it's great to see guys like him succeed, always plays with passion and runs like a horse. He also had one Dembele-like dribble in the game, not bad on the ball as some would think. One of the most consistent players this season.

he fills more space than any Spurs player I can recall. always shows for the pass and even though he doesnt create many chances he does the work of two men and allows other to create them.

Always better to go with the defender first, so Davies everytime.
GKN is a possibility but ultimately better to just revert to a back 4. Let's not forget how good we looked at times last year with a 4231

Couldnt agree more with what you said. I think Dier is the better in 4231 and Wanyama in 352. Glad to see Dier getting plenty of game time and playing well.
