I can't believe the BS people are spouting about how weak our team is. Actually criticizing our whole set up. I'm gob-smacked. What short memories some have. Last year we played the best football out of anyone. We had the second best defensive record in Europe. We have kept that same first 11. We have added two areas which needed to be addressed.
What's the point in promoting youth if you want to chuck tons of money to bring in ready made players that will block their progress. We're a young team, more experienced now than last year. Keep them together and let them get even better. We only ever needed to tweek, nothing more. Most we have sold, are not going to be missed as they hardly ever played.
Poch deserves to be trusted. He's one of the best young managers around, and we're lucky to have him. And despite what some on here think, they don't know what goes on behind the scenes, they don't know what Levy is thinking. Maybe Poch said this player is too expensive, he's not worth it. YOU HAVE KNOW IDEA.

My guess is that we're trying to make Njie stay and get Nkoudou in anyway, seeing as we can't sign anyone else. Just like Lamela last year.

Why is the club delaying the announcement? What difference does it make to announce now or 1/2/3/4 hours later? GKN is done so long ago just announce it FFS

Levy is Levy, he's not going to change and nor is our transfer policy.
What I do have gripes with though is delaying the GKN announcement to try and appease the fans. It's completely insulting and unfair on the player.

It's obvious that we signed the players we truly wanted early in the window. The rest of this stuff is just the usual deadline day fishing, see if we can nick another VDV. We were never seriously invested in getting these other players wrapped up, or it would've been done already.

To be fair, neither do you. You are just as likely to be wrong as anyone else. But all this Levy stuf really can wait until later or posted in the relevant thread foir now.

Nope, those two scenarios aren't analogous at all.
And I wasn't talking about how much is spent, I frankly don't give a shit. I could build a team I'd be happy with, with no players costing more than 15 million. Not saying it would do well, but just illustrating what I do and don't mean.

Sky Sports saying Newcastle haven't heard anything from us since yesterday regarding Sissoko.
I don't know what to think. We did get rid of two exeptional squad players in Chadli and Mason, but we have more young blood coming through. The goons managed to get Cl year in year out on a tight budget (i.e. by using their academy for mending holes), I'm sure we can too. Onomah has that attitude that breeds confidence in others and Jansen is one hell of a workhorse. if all else fails, I see those two possibly creating a deadly partnership in the final third. Some players do that to each other. Keane was world class along side berba, and Adebayor was unstopable next to VDV. We still have Carrol, who has that air of Modric at times.
I think Poch knows a lot more than us. It's just a question of getting the team clicking. We have talented guys and a terrific manager. The way he turned the game around vs Liverpool should be proof enough.
