Is a back up/rotation striker now our only real priority for January?

Not saying it has to be Berahino, but you can see the effect quick and good movement has had on the rest of the attack. We only have 2 players that fit this description, so, to make sure we always have an option available, IMO, we need to either bring in a striker that can play as a lone striker (freeing up one of Son or N'jie to always be an option alongside) or bring in another player that is quick with good movement or, in an ideal world, a player than can do/is both. IMO, Berahino, whilst not the perfect option, fits the description of both.

Berahino isn't a "fulcrum" type of lone striker and he isn't as good as a wide player as player we have. If he's not the perfect option he sure as shit isn't a value option, why bother.

Simple, lack of attainable perfect options. Again, I'm not saying it has to be Berahino, just he is an option that can play as a lone striker (I don't think his weaknesses are as bad as you think), he can play wide and he adds good, quick movement.

Aside from a major injury happening to a starter i cannot see Levy spending bugger all in January. Not a penny.

We badly need winners in the squad, and a rotation striker and DM(depending on what the long term plan is with Dier) in January. We just need 1 or 2 players. Our options? Hmmm. From the looks of it, there are not too many players that would come at reasonable prices. So we might have to settle for a 6 month loan. In all honesy, I wouldnt be opposed to doing a loan swap with MLS. Send a youth player over there for the year or for 6 months, and bring in a Pirlo, Gerrard, Fat Frank or VIlla. Maybe send Ball over there if the Rangers loan still isnt working out? I mean, the last couple times we've sent players there on loans, they've worked out(Dawkins and Ward).

I'd be surprised if we are not back in for him in January, very surprised.

I think we'll go for someone lower profile and more similar to Kane (with Son and Njie impressing, we don't need someone versatile at WF too).

Someone like Arkadiusz Milik

How can "back up" striker be our priority? We only have two goals (one offside) in seven league games from our strikers (if you count Son as a striker). We need to be looking for top quality striker. If he is young like Berahino, great.

EDIT: Maybe it is the term "back up" I have a problem with. When I think of back up, I think of Rickie Lambert type or the Levy special of Saha. No thanks.

More than backup, I'd like one that could challenge Kane.
I don't know if it's possible, but Kevin Volland would be fantastic, as he could be striker and left footed right forward also

I like Perez. Sounds like he wanted the move.

We definitely need another quality striker maybe even two more if we intend to challenge for the Europa League and FA Cup also.A quick mobile striker like Berahino would be good but I would like to see a beast type player also. I think kane needs the completion to push him to the next level. An experienced player in the middle of the park would be great also someone who can dictate play with a good passing range.
