Yeah, let's throw in a 19 year old RB in a game away to the (second) best team in the league...If ever Poch was going to alter his regular 4231, a game like this should be it. I'd go:
Lloris
McQueen Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Mason Capoue Bentaleb
Lamela Adebayor Eriksen

Nope, I'd prefer the player who has more first-team experience.I'd rather a 19yo RB than a 20yo CB.

Just made realise we don't have a single summer signing in our current starting x1(if naughton fit)Lloris
Naughton/Dier Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Capoue Mason
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Adebayor
Vorm Fazio Dier/Naughton Stambouli Dembele Townsend Kane

Bet you hated seeing Kaboul put in the cross for Crouch's goal that took us in to the Champions League in 2009/10, didn't you?I'd rather a 19yo RB than a 20yo CB.
To be honest I think KWP is a bigger talent than McQueen, and probably more likely to get a game for the first team.
No way will eriksen be dropped though. Would love to see chadli given a go as a strikerYeah that would do lovely I think.
Originally had wanted Dembele in but he could be a good sub, for Mason etc, later on in the game.
Likewise if we're losing, Eriksen is on the bench for a more positive change if required.
Stambouli assigned to Silva makes eminent sense to me. Has the mobility and tenacity to really get in Silva's face.

If anyone to be rested, then lamela who loses the ball far far too oftenTo be honest it will probably be the same team, with Dier in for Naughton - if he doesn't make it.
I just think its absolutely ideal to go with three in the middle - for obvious reasons. That means one of the usual quartet drops to the bench.
I don't view this as 'dropping' per se...just tactical tweaks.

Classic BC "I've made my mind up and it will NOT be changed" stuff. Fair play, that was a genuine laugh-out-loud moment for me.
"Dier cannot, just simply CANNOT play right-back!! Grrrrrrrr!!one!1!!"
I think he's been perfectly adequate defensively at right-back, if not quite as assured as he seems at centre-back. I certainly think that he has a mature head on his shoulders for one so young, and I think that that maturity is worth more to the team than any advantage we'd gain from playing A.N.Other totally green youngster in their favoured position (based on my opinion, which apparently isn't shared by you, that Dier isn't a defensive liability at right-back).No, he can and has, but he isn't very good at it. He offers us nothing going forward, which is essential when you play inverted wingers and he has been very shaky defensively. Playing FB requires real athleticism, bursts of pace and speed on the turn. I don't think Dier is designed to play that way.
I have no problems with playing youngsters. I wouldn't mind playing someone like McQueen or Walker-Peters if we were playing a team like QPR or Burnley but Man City, at the Etihad?!?!?!?!? It's far too risky IMO (and I think Poch will feel the same) and Dier will at least provide some height at corners and is more experienced. This is obviously assuming Naughton isn't fit but let's face it, it would be a miracle if he is- and I reckon we wont see him in action for some time@scat1620 and @THFCSPURS19
I have edited Kyle Walker-Peters in instead, though I'm sure you'll have similar objections and I'll have similar response to those.
This is what our academy and massive investment in development is for.
