Son - Did you even take time to run over that carefully before posting? Because you really should have; did you actually threaten me by saying you will block me? That would be the threat of someone most certainly under 10, but yet you know what "blue waffle" is, so I'm confused! Surely schools are not teaching kids vaginal infections at your age.

Nah had first hand work experience on vaginal infections. Taught by your mum. Wasn't pleasant truth be told.

Just calm your ass down now son. We are all spurs here.

It is a shame that every time the team seems to be on a positive note, there's a break. Yesterday was the best I've seen us play and if we can maintain that form, we could nick something from the Shitty game. Just hope the international break does not break our good momentum.

Our highest goal scorer so far on the bench? Would play chadli as the striker for this game with Ade on the bench. Chadli is rarely dispossessed and with his height (6ft 2), size, deceptive pace, good runs and goals i think he would be more effective than Ade for this game.

Lamela is a slightly tough call for me for this game but i hope he starts. He can be very creative with his passes and he works hard but i wonder if it compensates for how often he is dispossessed of the ball (most dispossessed player in the league). He does try to do too much sometimes and its the only thing i think affecting his otherwise good performances.

We need to create a better outlet for the ball and press better than we did against Arsenal. Perhaps a pacy winger (townsend) might help?

Yeah I would start Chadli having rethought about it.

I just think we should outnumber them in the middle. I know we arn't Roma (!) but they really exposed City.

With the players we have (including one of Roma's best a year and a bit ago), we should be able to do to City what they did. It annoys me that we don't have the confidence/mentality to pull it off.

I would love to just put someone on Silva. He's probably my favourite non Spurs player in the League. He's an asbolute joy to watch.

Toure still isn't anywhere near his best and I know City have so many match winners, all it takes is a bit of quality from one of them but Silva is still the one that really makes them tick.

He floats all over the place looking for space. Go three in the middle and just assign someone to him. Its the sort of thing Mourinho would do.

Who has the legs and discipline? Stambouli?

Yep, exactly who I was thinking.

Yup I like that idea. The big question is then who do you drop. For the good of the team, and despite his improved performance yesterday, I think I'd have to drop Eriksen. Just not sure a defensive rear-guard type of game is where he's likely to be at his best. We need pace on the counter and I think Lamela and Chadli offer that more than anyone else.

The alternative would be to drop Adebayor, play Chadli upfront and then bring in Eriksen. Don't see that happening though.

Lloris

Naughton Kaboul Vertonghen Rose

Capoue Stambouli Mason

Lamela -------------- Chadli

Adebayor

Yeah that would do lovely I think.

Originally had wanted Dembele in but he could be a good sub, for Mason etc, later on in the game.

Likewise if we're losing, Eriksen is on the bench for a more positive change if required.

Stambouli assigned to Silva makes eminent sense to me. Has the mobility and tenacity to really get in Silva's face.

What about Stambouli?
Or should he stay in the europa league squad for now?

2 DMs would be too negative imo while dembele will provide steel and an attacking threat as he would be the most advanced of the 3. He would have acres of space to dribble in to if city play 2 in the middle aswell.

Let's not forget Ade used to play for City so he will be up for this game and hopefully will be fully fit. He is due a goal.

Before the Arsenal game there was much wailing and moaning here about a defeat and probably a heavy one but I believed we could get a result. However I expect us to lose this game because our defence is not very good and their attack is exceptionally good. Parking the bus is not an option IMO and I have a hunch MoPo will try something a little different with the team. I am just hoping for an exciting game and perhaps a 3-2?

Edit: I don't think Lamela will start.

Slight change of plans...

Lloris

Dier Kabs Verts Rose

Capoue Mason

Chadli Lamela Dembele

Ade

Vorm, Faz, Davies, Stambo, Eriksen, Kane, Soldado

Start solid, build/change from there.

Say whaaaa? Yeah, I went there. Chadli at striker or as a false 9. I feel like it could work on the counter with Dembele in midfield. Mason/Capoue to spray the ball forward to spring the counter. I think it could work, personally. Also, I'm just not convinced it's worthwhile to send any of our strikers out against City at this time.

Lamela will start guaranteed, unless injured.
