He's got my full support if he gets the gig. I only hope that he isn't given the elbow at the first significant, or hell even insignificant these days, sign of trouble. We need to give one of these buggers some time. Top 6 in the league, and whatever else happens, no matter how uncomfortable you get, sit on your fucking hands this time Levy!

Indeed, and the same for the boo boys.

Tino and Lamela are going to have the ultimate bromance.

Going to be glorious to watch.

Depends. Every player will have to buy into what is expected of him, both with and without the ball, or he wont get in the team. Look at Ramirez at Saints, another South American flair player who you would think might be a favourite of Poch yet he has to make do with sub appearances at best.

Will be interesting to see who does, and who doesn't. I predict one or two who may fall out of favour that the fans may question.

When I watched Southampton under Pochettino I saw evidence of a manager who could get his players to enact a very specific system. Though I am an Ajax fanboy, this observation is what still makes me excited about Pochettino.

Off-the-ball movement is by far the biggest reason Southampton had so much success last season. They weren't creating tons of sweaty chances strictly through the individual brilliance of players; they had consistent attack patterns and types of runs that forged chances systematically. They very rarely had games where they looked completely bereft of ideas.

AVB was great at articulating his ideas in interviews but I never saw anything to suggest he was actually capable of getting a group of players to perform them. How many occasions can you remember where our players literally just fucking stood around over the last two seasons? And when runs were made, how many occasions did our players actually have the balls to try to pick them out?

This is the biggest thing that needs changing with our side. Our movement is abysmal.

If the players still aren't getting it right after having 3 managers, then Poch has my blessing of getting rid/dropping/butt fucking them.

Don't get me wrong, mine too. I'm looking forward to some of them getting totally beasted over the summer. Double training sessions to look forward to, extra fitness work, identify and remove the weak who moan about it and move forward with a focused, motivated squad.

It's not like we're short on players and can't afford to offload a few.

Have no problem with any of them being squad players (as long as he doesn't play a high line).
Rather move them on and use the youth as depth.

Lennon for one will 100% not fit Tino's system if he uses the same one as he does at Soton.

I just hope he sees through Lennon, Rose, Dawson etc
They can't do what he will demand of them so I can't see anything other than an exit for Daws and bench or exit for Lennon, Rose.

I'd have hope for the last two if they had a footballing brain cell between them.

So now should we set up the thread to decide the proper nickname?

great post. we have been really hard to watch for 2 seasons now, especially at home. ive no idea if he is the right man long term but short term we should at the very least be exciting to watch again.
