Tottenham have reportedly begun the first steps to re-sign Marcus Edwards from Sporting Lisbon. Antonio Conte is claimed to have been impressed by the attacking midfielder in the two Champions League ties between the two teams this season.

Conte had concerns that Gil was too lightweight for the PL. It wouldn’t make any sense to sign Edwards for a large sum just to warm our bench.

We can't just take him. Edwards would have to want to return to us.

Edwards has more in his locker, a better burst of acceleration/agility and he actually looks to have gained a lot of strength recently. Seen him shrug someone much bigger off with ease recently

I think you're right. I don't believe he wants to return to us, especially as he knows he will only be a bit part player.

I think our attack and defence is not up to scratch due to lacking in midfield. I think a creative and a box to box would see us doing much better all over the pitch. We desperately need a keeper though. Hugo has been a brilliant servant to the club but all good things must come to an end
