Simeone could be a decent backup striker/second striker, and if he is fit he will get a chance to impress while Son and Erik are out. He is known for his work rate and determination (no surprise given his genes) so Poch should be a fan too. He seems strong and aggressive enough to cut it in the prem. Get him in asap, and move on to bring in a good right back and some quality replacement for Sisokko, assuming he is history at Spurs.
