I thought we were getting rid of dead wood not buying our closest rival's rejects only to get rid of next year

What has not winning the Prem got to do with signing Rickie Lambert, someone who has worked well in Poch's system and scored goals from it before? Aside from the fact that he'd be cheap and willing to be backup to Kane.

Apart from he's 33 and scored 2 goals , yes two goals, in TWENTY FIVE appearances for Liverpool, you are half right.
He IS NOT the striker to get us top 4. CLEARLY Rodgers didnt feel he was the striker to get Liverpool top 4 either as he started him so little.
We need a genuine top striker to play alongside, or in place of, Kane. As Poch sees fit.We don't need someone whop is 33, and average at best?
I fail to see how Lambert would be a positive addition to our team. Look at the Scum, signing 3 kiids for £3.5m approx , 1 will be worth nish, one will be ok, and one might be worth £loads. Give me three prospects over a 33 year old any day.

3 prospects over a proven goal scorer? He scored 2 goals having come on as a sub in most of those appearances. He may not have been a good second choice but I fail to see how having him would be a bad thing. It doesn't matter now anyway. He's just scored twice btw on his first appearance for WBA so we've dodged a bullet it seems.
