I hate it when it's just the media who link us to a player and then after he signs for another club they announce "Spurs lose out to....". Grrrrrr !

I can't locate a single sentence in this bereft piece of "journalism" that has a ring of truth.

Good player. Yes didn't have great season as was in and out, but last season was brilliant. Poch would work wonders and he's twice the player Wimmer is. Not glamarous enough for most here though

I haven't clicked on the link, but if we're not going to give them Dier they aren't going to give us Smalling, another thing is he isn't going to come and sit on our bench the entire season.

After Pochettino lost out to Leicester in the chase for a player he was never after, apparently. Tough race to win that one.

I haven't read it but if I had I would probably agree with you.
Smalling is very tall but not competent enough
rather than not glamorous enough.
Phil Jones was only the best
of a very poor defensive bunch against France.
Cumbersome, Lumbersome.
I liked Pochettino's plan to build a team of 'Harry's'
but Leicester spoiled that.
Expect we'll end up paying 30 million for some overated European star
who will take a seasons to settle in and then be found wanting.
Search the Academy locker room first Mauricio
and Hackney Marsh's Youth teams on a Sunday morning.

All this speculation must be based on the rumour that Wimmer is leaving, which must be coming from either Spurs or his agent.

Maybe the reason they are letting him go is because of Carter-Vickers, Dier and Davies can both play in central defence too.

Manchester United Captain Champions league & Premier league winning England regular twenty seven years old for £17million and there are people on this thread who wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!
Sometimes I despair! We should cut through the competition with a machete to get him at that price.
Not that I believe a word of the story but good grief people get a grip.

If we matched his wages (which we'd probably have to) he be way ahead of Toby and Jan but nowhere near their level. Would lead to all sorts of complications. Crap with the ball at his feet anyway.

The player I watched against us this season was not a player nowhere near their level.
