Antonio Conte has called for his Tottenham team to be ‘nasty’ as they look to recapture their old form and climb up the Premier League table. His side currently sits in fifth place and need to grind out some significant results if they are to secure Champions League football for next season.

Trouble is, our players who generally do most of the yelling and pointing (Dier, Lloris and Hojbjerg) aren't cutting the mustard at the moment.

Every ref will read this and now flash the yellow cards early.

Conte turning into Mourinho more and more every game. This nastiness thing is bullshit. Yes, you have to be competitive, but I'd rather our team be better instructed with better tactics rather than worrying about how nasty we are.

And herein lies the problem for me.

The team shouldn't need to be told to dig deep, get nasty, fight tooth and nail to the end.

That should be the bare minimum requirement first and foremost, and not even related to individuals footballing ability.

Alas, all too often we appear to get the token gesture of a 15 minute effort in games, as opposed to the other way round.

Sure they'd all like to win things, but how hard are they prepared to work.

Maybe he should try giving it some 'nasty' himself. He could start by dropping Son who's been a passenger pretty much all season. We all love him of course, but no time for sentimentality.

I honestly think that some of our team are so thick they will interpret being nasty to Fulham as criticizing Mitrovics tattoos.

The 'being nasty' expression sounds more like the Daily Express reporter take on what Conte said rather than what Conte said or even meant. Spurs don't need to be nasty so much as more competitive, fast and decisive.
