I'd honestly go with one extra guy with ability in the midfield who can pass it and help retain possession than someone who is going to give the ball away with hollywood passes or run around a lot but not go near the ball. Short incisive passing in the middle, pace on the wings. Let's open the season with some fun football and lift the spirits.​

If Defoe-Crouch are the two up top Saturday I guarantee one of them will score. Just because they aren't good as lone strikers doesn't mean they can't score with a strike partner. Didn't Defoe get like 25+ goals in the 09/10 season when partnered with Crouch/Pav?
