Team vs Brighton (A)

I'm concerned we wont have the energy to compete against Brighton and their clever movement. We had 4 days to prep for the United game and it seemed like our players were exhausted towards the last 20 or so minutes of the game. We have even less time to prep for this game before an even more challenging fixture against West Ham the following Sunday.

With all of that said, here is the team we'll likely see on Wednesday.

I quite like this team set up. I think Kulusevski could do a good job in central midfield and having Bergwijn up front will make good use of his decent off the ball movement and I feel he’s really dangerous when he can pick the ball up closer to the penalty area

West ham are playing on thursday , so we will have 24 hours on them.....and Lets defend better and stop the excuses of tiredness i think....first half we conceded 2 goals against Manu, and the winner was from a set piece, nothing to do with exhaustion.

I'm not making excuses for the team. Its a noted fact that when this team has less than 5 days to prep for a game, their energy levels drop, performances suffer and they lose games. Also, you seem to think exhaustion is reserved to being "physically" tired but there is a mental component to exhaustion as well. Players concentration drops , start making silly mistakes (underhitting passes, unable to control a simple pass etc) and take less risks when mentally exhausted. I'm happy to be proven wrong on Wednesday and Sunday but there is clear trend developing with this team and poor performances with less than 5 days of prep time.
