Judging by the time it’s been taking between media says done deal and when it’s announced by the club, i am guessing we will see it confirmed on Wednesday

Would think it’ll either be Bergwijn announced (if the latest update is true re: fee agreed) or Lo Celso being made permanent announced later in the day to pair with what will likely be Eriksen’s sale announcemenf first thing in the morning.

Yep, fantastic value on all of transfers this year. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, now Bergwijn you could see all of them being worth easily twice that in 2 years time. Now just have to see if Levy will roll out the check book another maybe 4 or 5 times this summer.

Wasnt Ndombele £60m? Jury’s out on that one. Easily worth £120m? Just as easily worth £20m unless he sorts his fitness out

My manager at work is Dutch & Ajax fan. He follows his national team passionately.

Asked him about Bergwijn & his move to Spurs...

“A pearl that can become really good as long as he is used by an ‘offensive’ coach...
oh there is a problem”

And he hates Mourinho :)

Mourinho’s negative football is such a false stereotype. People use it as a stick to beat him with but the reality is that the vast majority of title winning teams have been built from a solid foundation. In fact even our most successful seasons under Pochettino were based on being tight at the back.

I’m excited to see a pacey wide forward in this side as I think the option will be a real difference maker for Mourinho

Agree 100%.
Mourinho's team which has strike power always scores goals, whether it was his first stint at Chelsea or his RM side outscoring the famous Barca side. When he has shite strikers like Lukaku thats when he goes bit over defensive.

Agree, and which is why when he first came to us he was so confident. I think he was quickly surprised just how jaded and out of form the likes of Kane, Son, Dele and Moura are.

I don't think so. First 7 games under Jose, we scored 20 goals, almost 3 a game with all 4 contributing. Defense was shite then. Now defense is getting better but we have Kane,Ndombele, Sissoko,Davies injured & Son going through confidence issue after his stupid red card.

I strongly believe when players come back , we will see far more better showing under Mourinho

He went all out attack with 4 forwards on the pitch and almost no midfield and we would have won most games if we could take our chances. We've drawn games 1-1 when we should have had 3 or 4 goals (see last match as perfect example). All those players had a bounce when he first came in, starting away at West Ham, especially Dele. But since Xmas all have been very poor (especially Dele).

Yep, aren't we all ?

Hopefully the injection of nee blood will lift things. Seen a few more encouraging signs of late with energy of lo celso. We just need to finish chances and not get so tied up in knots!

People suggest SB is good passer which may be helpful given Son seems a bit reluctant!

12pts from the first five games and 8pts from the last seven. I think JM is only just getting a handle on what his best 18 is. We should expect to see improvements now especially if we get some luck with injuries. Poch always used to experiment the first two months of a season with players and formations and Jose has had to do similar - changing managers is rarely the instant fix people think

Alot of reports stating that agreement now in place with PSV including Telegraf which is a good source of Dutch news.

Great to see us doing a deal that has blindsided most of us, like the good old days of seeing transfer news on teletext

PSV takes 32 million euros for Bergwijn transfer to Tottenham Hotspur

The deal between Tottenham Hotspur and PSV on Steven Bergwijn provides the Eindhoven club with a total of around 32 million euros. A fixed transfer premium of 30 million euros is paid and 2 million euros in bonuses to be paid out almost certainly. The deal came late last night.

It's almost like if Alex Ferguson said "Good defenses wins you titles".

Klopp's Liverpool also only really became short of untouchable once Van Dijk joined up as the missing piece of their defense. For a more current day analogy.
