STasci availability alerts Wenger and Redknapp

Sport.co.uk can confirm that Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci is available in the January transfer window with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur monitoring the talented German international.

Tasci’s club Stuttgart are currently languishing in 17th and are set for a relegation battle for the rest of the campaign with the talented 23-year-old ready to leave the club for pastures new. The German giants sacked former manager Jen Keller last week and replaced him with Bruno Labbadia with the club having an uncharacteristically poor start to the season.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been monitoring the defender since 2009 with the North London pair enquiring about the German international in the summer after the World Cup in South Africa where Tasci was selected for his nations World Cup squad.

The combination of a poor campaign from Stuttgart, a new manager and a recent injury setback for Tasci, the player’s chief representative Oliver Mintzlaff admitted that there is interest in the defender, however he did confirm that no offers had been tabled for the talented stopper.

"The situation at the moment is that Serdar is injured currently, plus Stuttgart have been struggling in the Bundesliga recently and have appointed a new manager, so we will have to wait until he returns from injury in the next ten days and see what happens.” Mintzlaff told Sport.co.uk.

“The current injury is nothing serious, and he is very close to a full recovery. There is interest from the Premier League but it is still early, we will have to all have a talk in the break. But we will see.”

Don't need a defender really.

Wouldn't mind an improvement on Ekotto at left back, but even still that shouldn't be a priority when we are clearly crying out for a striker.

No more centre backs please...and right backs while we're at it.

Somehow my purchasing history on FM from 4 years ago, is being mimicked in real life.
First there was Woodgate, modric, bentley, Gomes, and players that we were strongly linked with but didn't buy, such as, J Cole, benzema, van bommel, and now tasci.

Immjust off to try and sign messi, lukaku, tevez, and di rossi. Wish me luck!
