Good luck to him. But after playing in one Premier League match (where he was not overwhelmed by the situation and acquitted himself very well for his age) I'm not about to cry into my bowl of Golden Grahams. And like someone above said, if he's actually any good, he won't be at West Ham for very long.

Do you remember if it was right or left fullback? We might be able to narrow it down.

We know that articles like these are purely sensationalist and should be taken with a pinch of salt but even so I say well done to the kid, deserves his fame and plaudits even if it was for game.

Good luck to him came across as a nice level headed young man when interviewed. Had a 95% pass completion rate in his first game away at the emirates he deserves some recognition.

The most irritating thing about this story is despite all the hard work we have been doing bringing numerous players through the academy we are now being labeled as a club that churns out youth prospects and West Ham, despite bringing through the grand total of 0 players in recent years are now being heralded as a school for English footballers again with all the old names being rehashed.

I'd have rejected him if he wore a baseball cap at a jaunty angle too!

Is it just me, or did anyone else laugh at the notion that West Ham is a club that gives youth a chance? Especially when compared to us who were prime examples of giving youth a chance last season.

West Ham are renowned for giving youth a chance

Just last season, they gave Dier a chance in the away game, which he took, and they gave Rose and Kane a chance in the home game, which they both took.

Quite right, well I'm onboard with the Spammer Youth movement, may it continue for decades to come.

wish he had kept him but can't win them all and we are winning more than most at youth level etc
