Our only genuine World class player . One thing I want to see him do more of again is scoring different types of goals. Haven’t seen a long range rocket for a while .

Need some fantasy football points ASAP bring back the double and trebles .

Get the ball into the box from out wide at every available opportunity rather than trying to pick a hole through 8 players lined up outside the box. Because we've got Harry Kane.

Jose Mourinho with the most obvious tactical tweaking in football history.

Erling already well on his way to beating it - 7 in 4

Although he'll be bought buy Real or Juve and vanish long before he gets near 20.

Insert obligatory "fuck TalkSport" disclaimer here but it seems like Kane vs Lewa for the title of world's best striker has become a big debate with increasingly more pundits and (ex-)pros weighing in:

All of this could make the next Bayern match interesting despite being a dead rubber. Unfortunately at least one of either Kane or Lewa probably won't play since we've both qualified and can't even do battle for first place. I just hope nothing too humiliating happens in that game.

I do miss the rockets. I think those went when he stopped being selfish and started adopting more of a playmaker role. But he's one of the best I've seen at the 25-yard individual spectacular. He gets so much power from so little backlift, allowing him to hit shots through keepers from distance. The element of surprise in his snapshots means he doesn't have to worry about painting the frame of the goal either. But we know he has those more accurate post-clipping long shots in his locker too.

I'm praying one day he scores a bicycle kick (does anyone remember when he made a sweet connection with one years ago against Arsenal and it was just cleared off the line?). As far as I'm concerned, after his halfway line goal against Juve, a bicycle kick is the only kind of goal he hasn't scored. Maybe there are a few other fringe cases like a scorpion kick. And he definitely needs to score from an undeflected free kick now that I think about it. Okay, fine(!), but the point is that I'm really straining to think of kicks/angles/distances from which Kane hasn't scored. He's such a versatile finisher.

Personally, I think he's a bit too unselfish these days, but someone had to make up for the fact that his fellow forwards, especially towards the end under Poch, were all behaving like strikers in the final third. Kane took that hit. It reduced his average shots per game stat below that of his usual self and that of Son, who has been the primary beneficiary of Kane's less selfish role. As much as I like Son, he's become a lot more selfish than Kane and regularly neglects higher percentage passing options. Not at all surprisingly, the significant reduction in Kane's shots has reduced his total goals, even though he remains clinical when he does shoot.

I hope Jose lays down the law and redefines the forward roles so that everyone is doing what Kane already does: looking for an obvious pass before shooting most of the time. At the end of the day, you would choose Kane to take the lion's share of your shots if you could. For all of Son's extra shooting, he doesn't score more non-penalty goals than Kane.

I miss the days when the DES in the so-called DESK (or substitute Moura if preferred) were scoring 10-20 but also assisting the same amount. Getting back to that may be critical in winning consistently while the team's attack is so much more potent than its defence.

This record that Kane just broke is under real danger from Erling Haaland imo.

He has 8 goals in 5 games.

Even though the kid is clearly class, let's not let the flimsy look of their group alter the perception of what he's gone and done so far:

Zenit
Lyon
Benfica

It's not often he'll ever get an easier run in this tournament. All 3 in the same group whilst avoiding every genuinely good team has been an absolute gift.

Those three teams are still good level teams, you can tell this just by seeing how close the group table is. If this was Kane's record after his first five games we'd be jizzing. JIZZING.

You've got the wrong RB, mate. Håland plays for Salzburg, who's got Napoli and Liverpool in their group. He's scored four goals in three games against those two, and four against Genk, who admittedly are shite. And he has only played the full 90 minutes once, averaging 37 minutes per goal so far. It's quite remarkable.

I've literally just noticed that, my apologies.

The fact they probably won't make it through to the knockout stages and won't have to come up against a solid team will probably work in the kids favour as well. He'll get a big move for sure and if the team he plays for bangs them in like RB Salzburg have been (they've scored 16 in 5 games I believe) then there's every chance. By the same token if his next team pulls a group of death type of draw he could easily go 4-5 games without nothing one.

He's done very well and looks a real prospect but teams like Genk giving away 10 goals in 2 games doesn't happen very often in the Champions League, he'll for sure have to work for it.

Yeah, but we don't know where he will end up either at this point. I said that he could, because his record so far is crazy.

Kane has scored goals against APOEL, Red star, PSV, Olympiacos so I don't think it's fair to look at the opponents. Certainly if you want to compare with Del Piero's old record. It is what it is.

Well, Red Star in our group have 0-15 in the last three games.

Yeah, only a complete joke of a team would give away 9 or 10 goals in only a couple of matches
