Sampdoria are expected to bring up Joe Rodon in discussions with Tottenham Hotspur over signing Bryan Gil. Spurs deal-maker Fabio Paratici is in Italy for meetings with a number of clubs as he looks to trim the Tottenham squad and he has good relations with Sampdoria.

Interesting times for young British players in their development. Tomori and Abraham did really well in Italy for Milan and Roma last year and if transfer rumours are anything to go by, it has convinced Italian teams to see the value in the strategy. Germany has been a well-trodden path for a few years for teenagers and players in their early twenties.

If it's not complete garbage, it wouldn't be a bad option for Rodon to spend a year or 2 in Italy. 1 year loan to a Premier League team would still be a preference for me. Needs some games somewhere though.

Bit confused by the situation with Rodon. He gets left off the tour which seems to imply he's not needed, then we hear that he was ill and Conte always talks highly of him.

Is he staying or going??
