Did Chelsea's transfer ban appeal go to CAS? If it did, they had to start serving the ban and it was then reduced so there'd be precedent to not allow City to use an appeal to delay the start of the punishment.

I thought the appeal will run in conjunction with the ban, not delay it.

So n

Cas cases are usually very quick once started.

But even if it does not get overturned at CAS, they could still appeal to Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland after that to drag things out.
I really think that Man City will be in Europe next year and punishment will be delayed until the following season.

On average it takes 6-12 months for a case to go through CAS

There's no chance they get this case heard and ruled on in 6 months In time for the new season

Best case they miss a year and in reality that won't be much of a deterrent

And look at Juve. Two years out of serine A and yet champions 7 years in a row after being relegated for cheating. The most powerful team in Italy...

If a player appeals a red card, they get to keep playing while the appeal is heard.

I would have assumed that, if a club appeals a ban, the ban would be suspended until the appeal has been decided. Otherwise, if the appeal concludes that the club has been unjustly banned, the club has already lost a great deal of money for doing nothing wrong.

Have you got a source that tells us that this is not so?

I honestly feel city should be deducted points for each year they cheated

They need a similar punishment to that faced by Sarries in rugby

Especially because of the non-cooperation

“ In urgent cases and upon request, the CAS may, within a very short time, order interim measures or suspend the execution of a decision appealed against.”

Chelsea’s suspension was not stayed while they appealed to CAS - they served one half of the ban..

An appeal to CAS can be made only if all other avenues have been exhausted

Don’t forget, it’s likely the PL will impose a punishment too

There’s a lot for city to do before they can appeal - I’d be surprised if they were granted a suspension based on recent history

But I’m not a lawyer so I can’t say for certain. Just seems unlikely they would rule that way based on recent history and their own rules

Pretty sure Chelsea made a an unsuccessful, separate application for the ban to be suspended whilst the appeal was heard.

Chelsea took decision to accept one window suspension on the hope they could have it halved by CAS by seeming cooperative.
They could have asked CAS to put on hold

Barcelona's transfer ban was suspended after they appealed.

Precedent says clubs are not removed from competition until all appeal avenues have been exhausted, but where they affect the following seasons competitions these are usually always expedited or a compromise is agreed between UEFA and the club. I don't think either party will compromise in this case though.

It’ll be the first time in the owners lives they’ve been told ‘no’/punished for their behaviour.

Funny shit

Anyway, Yokohama Tyres is a close anagram of 'YoT aka Roman'.
I'm not saying they are a made up company used to dope chelsea's income.
But I would fully approve if UEFA also investigated this clearly suspicious relationship.

Not quite. Qatar refused to extradite a uae politicians wife. They didn't take it well and now saudi are digging a moat around qatar (and they say they are not stuck in the middle ages).

Just had another look at blue moon and they are all moaning about Dan Roan now because he’s retweeted someone who put up screen shots of their deluded rants from the forum. Hilarious meltdown on there, there’s one guy even censoring himself when he types uefa. :ROFLMAO:

Finally real shit is hitting the fan. I've been unhappy with FFP not for it's underlying intent, but because it seemed like loads of fluffy rules with no practical purpose. Now it actually seems like maybe it was put to use, and the sport will be better for it. I never bought the "at least they play good footie" line about City. No, there's nothing good or cool about that club in its present form.

This.

I’d rather see anyone other than City and Chelsea win the league tbh. Except maybe Arsenal.

But at least all those times Arsenal won it, we can begrudgingly concede they earned their success, rather than just buying it. Ditto United.

Hope the ban is upheld, although I’d much rather see them automatically relegated and made ineligible for promotion for one season.

See how keen your owners are to reinvest from scratch once all the star players have left. Wankers.

I think we’d come down harder in this country than what the Italians did on Juve for the shit they got up to. Blatant match fixing amongst other things wasn’t it? Madness really

I can't believe what I'm seeing from certain corners of their fanbase. They've absolutely been caught cheating and they're talking about holding up "fuck UEFA" banners and laughing maniacally as they imagine how much "they" are going to spend on lawyers in the appeal. They're like rabid Trump supporters.
