A Leeds supporting mate of mine thought they had him in January but the ITK he trusts says we pulled the plug.

I think he’d suit them quite well.

I'm not sure signing Winks counts as 'bulking' up, but I think a more progressive club in Leeds could be a bitter fit for him than Fat Frank's relegation battlers.

But Leeds also could be in a relegation fight next year. Although I agree it probably would be a better fit for him than Everton.

I think the ideal move for Winks would be somewhere like Southampton or Wolves where he could slot into a well organised progressive team where expectations on him are not super high. I think he can look quite neat when things are going well and he is capable of moving and recycling the ball fairly effectively.

He’s not the player I would want in a relegation battle though. He’s not really the type who is going to take the game to the opposition and he doesn’t really contribute many goals or assists. I think Everton will be looking for players who can make a major impact - they are massively underperforming and will demand a significant improvement- and I don’t think Winks is that type of player.

I agree with all that. I just have a feeling that Leeds will be a lower mid-table this side. But yeah, for Winks, he'd no doubt be a better fit for those teams you mention.

Yeah if Leeds can achieve that kind of position then Winks is not a bad shout for them. They will also be looking to replace Philips which potentially Winks can do.

Meanwhile, from an Everton fan on their forum. Can't really add much to it, save for the fact Everton have probably dodged a bullet if Fat Frank is supposedly not interested.

"This is why how we spend the Richarlison money is a worry. We really should not be going near Harry fucking Winks. He’s not going to improve us, he’s really not. Have we not got any scouts in foreign countries? Have we got no imagination whatsoever? Fucks sake. "
