Tottenham want Sneijder successor
Manchester Unites, Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Premier League pair want Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder successor
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head in a race to sign rising Inter Milan star Fredy Guarin.
According to a calcimercato.it report, both Sir Alex Ferguson and Andre Villas-Boas are extremely interested in the Colombia international.
However, it does say a move to Old Trafford or White Hart Lane would be very unlikely or cost a significant amount of money as Guarin is contracted until 2016 and has become a firm fans favourite, taking up the mantle of the now transferred Wesley Sneijder.
The Holland international has joined Turkish side Galatasaray and the Inter fans have taken to the man who has shone in the role of attacking playmaker.
Manchester United have been criticised for a lack of creative flair in the middle of midfield, while Tottenham look short in that area after the injury to Sandro ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Guarin can also be deployed in a deeper role in midfielder, so Ferguson and Villas-Boas would be getting a versatile operator should they decide to move for him.
