Alessandro Bastoni has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham but Fabio Paratici will have a few alternatives lined up in case they cannot seal a deal for the Inter Milan ace

For those who can't be bothered to click...

Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig)
Pau Torres (Villarreal)
Stefan de Vrij (Inter Milan)
Evan Ndicka (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Lisandro Martinez (Ajax)
Clement Lenglet (Barcelona)

If not Bastoni who would you want.....

Gvardiol is the obvious quality option. Lenglet intrigues me when you think of the improvement Conte has got out of Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Emerson etc.. He's top quality on the ball, and for my money is very similar to Torres but on a 2 year loan instead of 50m or whatever Villareal want. It's a no brainer for me. I think Conte could restore his confidence and we'd have a top player in exactly the style he wants. I'd also be keen to know if Bremer could play on the left.

De Vrij isn't an alternative, LCB needs to be able to run wide and make overlaps. There's a reason why Conte used Azpilicueta in wide CB role. De Vrij can only play in central CB role for Conte.

Agreed he's not an alternative for Bastoni, however Conte has said he sees Rodon as the cover for Dier, so if Rodon goes we need cover/rotation for Dier.
