Antonio Conte says Spurs could strengthen Squad in January market

"If there is the opportunity to strengthen the squad, we’ll do something,” Antonio Conte said in a media session earlier today.

“You know what is our politics and we try to follow these politics and to improve the team.

“The politics is about young players with not big salaries. We have to sign players that they can stay in our vision of the club here.

“Otherwise, we’ll continue with these players. I’m happy with them.”

Conte looked upset when questioned further on the club's 'politics' as described above.
Clearly these are not his politics and I imagine this is the reason he cannot agree a contract renewal.

From recent ITK, this feels like a (no doubt justified) swipe at Levy.

Seems Conte would very much like some more experienced and established players too.

What I find usually is that the clubs do the exact opposite of what you expect it to do in the transfer market. Conte says we have to focus on less established players and he's happy with the squad means they have told him they will go out and get a starter or two

Nothing good about the season- can't see any positive developments coming from a club who won't spend a penny on players and a manager who pleads for further investment in this department

Our policy has been like this for a long time. Either Levy lied to Conte when he recruited him and said we would change tactic or Conte is actually not as unhappy about it as people think.

Lets face it we've had pretty good success with this so it makes sense to keep going that way. We just need to hope that we hit a few other big wins like Romero, Bentancur and Kulusevski and less Lo Celso, Ndombele and Emerson Royal.
