Tottenham in the race for Eder
By Anthony Casanova

Eder is increasingly frequent presence in the pages of foreign newspapers. In Turkey, especially since the turn of the year, there has been no day that the attacker is not placed on the route of Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray (if negotiations with Drogba had failed, Eder was appointed as the alternative) or Besiktas. The latest information, precisely dated January 28, so yesterday, realized the interest of the club where he plays Raul Meireles to spend nine million euros with the scorer. BALL But know that this proposal was not sent to SAD because a intermediaries have warned Fenerbahce that for this value, nor a leg Eder led. All this at a time when Tottenham arises between candidates for hiring the Portuguese international. The association that the media is all Englishmen are less deductive: Villas Boas knows him well from the times of Academic and already referenced for next season.

One of those great stories where a manager is from a country so must be interested? Same as Jol was always about to sign every dutch player ever.

If we signed him on deadline day I'd be happy. Big, strong, and has picked up the scoring this season.

This is actually one I have forgot to mention. I would be very happy if we signed Eder. I rate him as a good player. I think he is suited for Premier League football.

Only time I have ever watched him was against United in the recent CL game, the guy seems to travel across the pitch well, have decent vision and some skills up his sleeve.

Never seen him play -- a very minor amount of internet research makes him out to be the Portuguese version of Kenwyne Jones. So, as a stop gap measure, take whichever of the 2 is cheapest in this window and sign a class striker in the summer please...

...this time the reported target isn't Moutinho and unfortunately doesn't sound as exciting. Safely tucked away on page 16 of today's A Bola is a story on Éderzito António Macedo Lopes who is thankfully referred to simply as Eder.
The SC Braga forward was with Tottenham's manager during his time at Portuguese club Académica and A Bola say that has something to do with the interest from Spurs. Their headline on the link is 'Tottenham in the race for Eder' and they mention other interest from Turkish clubs.
Since being with Villas Boas, Eder has moved to Braga and his career has taken off. The 25 year old is a bit of a late developer by modern football standards but has forced his way into the Portugal national squad after impressive performances this season. He's currently scored 9 goals in 8 league games for 3rd placed Braga and it's putting the ball in the back of the net that has surely attracted Villas Boas.
A Bola don't go much further and, in our opinion, if Villas Boas wanted the player then it would have made more sense to get him towards the beginning of this transfer window. His price wouldn't be huge but they're not going to get him for too cheap because he has a contract until 2016.
Several English newspapers, including The Mirror, said Tottenham had been scouting the player last September.
